"So how was it?" Lily kept pestering me as she followed me around.

"It was amazing. You can't believe some of the things that I found out" I said taking a seat on the couch in my living room.

"Why are you stalling? Just tell me already," she begs as she plops down onto the couch next to me.

"Calm down Lily, the girls are still sleeping" I hushed her. She gave me an agitated looking because I was taking forever to tell her.

"So it turns out Antonio and Amanda were an item a few years ago' I paused waiting for her reaction.

"The Amanda?" she asked in obvious confusion but it turns into shock when she saw my face.

"How? What?" she said still processing the words that I just said.

"Yup," I said looking at her. That was the same way I felt when I found out about it.

"I can't believe a person like Antonio would go for a person like Amanda," she exaggerated while standing up.

"Could it be?" she said more to herself before snapping her head in my direction.

"She is the mother?" she stated but it was more of a question.

"Yes, and she left her with Antonio after she was born and I don't think they saw each other again," I responded while making my self comfortable.

"She must have gotten her cuteness from her father," Lily said in a matter of factly tone.

"I know he is one fine gentlemen" I replied reminiscing about the night we had. "His chocolate skin just puts it over top for me," I finished in a daze.

"You would make some adorable babies" Lily joked and I joined in.

We sat in silence before I broke it thinking about the girls birthday coming up.

"My babies are turning ten months in a week," I said with a sigh. They are growing way too fast.

"I know I still can't believe that they are growing so fast. It felt like I just gave birth to them" I said hoping I don't become emotional.

"Your birthday is next Tuesday," Lily said knowing I was avoiding all talks about my birthday.

It made me miss my parents even more and I felt really bad that I just up and left them.

"It's just another reminder that I am getting older," I said with no enthusiasm.

"At least do something for your birthday. It doesn't have to be anything big, it could be us and maybe Antonio if you are up for it," Lily said happily as if she was the one celebrating her birthday.

"I thought you had to go to Houston," I said changing the subject. Lily was planning to go and visit her family because she wanted to spend Christmas with us.

"I am after your birthday," she said causing me to smile. I don't know what I would have done without my best friend.

"I have to think about it since I am planning on visiting my parents in California," I concluded and she nodded in understanding.

"The offer still stands," she said making her way into the kitchen.

I made my way upstairs to my room where the girls were sleeping.

"Hey, pretty girls," I said picking up both girls and held them in both my arms.

"Are you hungry?"I asked them as if they could understand me. Jadeen gave me a gummy smile while Jada had a small frown on her face.

Nick POV
************

"Are you sure you are pregnant?" I ask Sharon to look at the positive pregnancy test. I still wanted to be sure.

"I am," she said trying to pull me into a hug.

"How?" I ask her and she stared at me blankly.

"When a man loves a woman-" she started but I cut her off.

"So it isn't mine" I stated and her eyes widen.

"Nick, what are you talking about?" she asks starting to tear up.

"Congratulations, so who is the father?" I asked her.

"What do you mean who is the father?" she asked starting to get defensive.

"You said when a man loves a woman and I thought I made it pretty clear this was just for business," I said looking as her face fell.

"You don't love me?" she cried and I was beginning to feel guilty.

"It is yours" she started full-blown sobbing and I stood there awkwardly. After seeing that she was not going to stop I pulled her into a hug while patting her back.

"I'll make us a doctors appointment to make sure that everything is good" her head snapped up and she looked in my eyes.

"No!" she shouted and I furrowed my eyebrows looking at her.

"Why?" I asked and she fixed her composure before trying again.

"I mean I have everything under control so there is no need" she tried to change my mind.

"No, I insist after all it's my baby," I said and she nodded taking a seat on one of the chairs.

"I can't believe I am carrying the heir to our companies. Once our businesses merge then we can be a happy family" she grinned while looking at me.

"Technically he or she is not the heir to my company. I have twin girls who are in line to take over my company when I step down" I replied and that seems to make her mad.

"No that's the past and are you sure they are you? I mean it could be one of your business associates with all we know" she said with a smirk plastered over her face.

"I know my wife, ex-wife, I know my ex-wife and she would never stoop down to that level no matter how much hate she has for me" I clarified and she rolled her eyes.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore. She is your past and I am your future," she said with an attitude.

"But I do have a question for you Sharon. You never wanted a child and you couldn't stand the thought of me having one, what changed?" I asked her and she pondered over the question.

"I never wanted to be a stepmom, that's what changed."
