Chapter 25

Jade's POV

"What about this one?" I ask Melony as we walk through the baby boy isle in Baby's R Us.

"That's cute," she says looking at the onesie that I was holding up. It had the word 'Mama's little prince' On the front of it along with a crown under. 

Ever since the last talk we had everything has been going great. Melony tried reaching out to her parents but they refused to even speak to her. 

"You okay, Mel" I asked her because she seem in a daze. 

"Yeah am okay. It's just the looks am receiving is just-" she stops talking as tears fall from her eyes. That was all it took for me to pull her into a hug. 

"Don't worry about what people think. It's okay to cry sometimes and think things through. If you ever feel like you can't manage just remember I got you."

She calmed down a few minutes later and we continued shopping. We shopped for both Melony and the baby. She picked up a few things she will be needing for the hospital and then we left the stores. 

"Where do you want to go and eat?" We haven't really eaten much all day and its around lunch time. 

"It doesn't really matter." 

"C'mon there must be something that you are craving." I laughed remembering what I craved while I was pregnant. 

"Spicy nachos."

"Taco bell it is."

The drive to Taco bell was a short one because we were already on the freeway. 

"So, have you decided on what color you want to paint your room?" 

We already chose the furniture that she wanted for her room and it is being delivered tomorrow. I finished the living room with the help of Lily and Nick. The twins room was the first one that we completed and then the guest rooms. 

"I thought about it and decided Lavender," she replied. 

"So did you accept the date invitation?" she asked laughing because Nick asked me out infront of everyone. 

"I mean I don't see any harm in me going with him. The only thing we would talk about are the twins.  The court order was split custody" I explained myself. 

"At the end of the day it's all up to you."

We finally arrived in the drive-thru line and ordered our food. 

"Oh my God. You are Jade White," That was the first thing I was greeted with as I pulled up to the window. 

"Guilty as charged," I gave a smile. 

"I freaking love you," the person working the window said. I looked closer at her badge and realized her name was Amanda. 

'You have got to be kidding me' 

"Aww thank you Amanda" I told her and she took a selfie with me. 

I handed Mel the bag with the food and then we headed back home.

"Should I even get all dressed up?" I asked Lily looking at myself in the mirror.

I was wearing a red satin dresses that stopped right about the knees. My hair was placed in a French braid.

"Yes girl you are going to a fancy restaurant".

I was so tired if going to fancy restaurants. I had my own restaurant so it just does not seem as appealing as it would have anymore.

Nick was picking me up in 10 minutes which gave me time to pack a bag for the twins.
They have not really spent a week without me, but we will just have to see how this turns out.

"He's here" Lily says from downstairs.

I walked down the stairs my silver heels Gigi me enough balance.

"Okay I am ready," I said to no one in particular.

Nick was standing in front of the door and Lily stood to the side.

Melony was resting with all the movements we did today.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't," Lily shouts as I exit the house.

Nick walked me to the black 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA and it was a beauty.

Nick always had a thing for cars especially the newer ones so I was not a bit surprised.

"Am so happy you decided to join me" He says starting a conversation. I already knew what this would lead to next.

Was I ready for all this?

The answer to that would be no because recently I have been loving my freedom.

"It's nothing really. So when are you going back to California?"  I ask trying to change the subject.

"Once everything is fixed."

"What do you mean?"

There are plenty of things that he could mean by that and I was hoping I wasn't included.

Nick POV

"You look very beautiful," I said trailing my eyes up and down her body. I know right now I would so perverted but if I have the eyes then why not.

"Thank you."

This was a very awkward situation and I was really hoping it would not be. I just want things to go back to the way they were before.

I could tell by the look on her face that she knew I was trying to persuade whatever she ask me.

"Look I am sorry and I really hope we could move forward."

"Nick let's not spoil it before we even have the chance to eat. We can discuss this after dinner," she shut me down completely.

The silence was provoking and I had no idea of I should say something or turn the radio on.

Jade took her phone and started scrolling through it.

I continued to pay attention to the road until I finally saw the restaurant sign.

The restaurant was Italian and it had Jade's favorite food and I knew she would enjoy it.

We sat in complete silence until a waiter came and we ordered appetizer.

"Bruschetta pizzaiola," we both said at the same time.

This caused a small laugh to escape Jade's lips and a smile to grace my face.

This was the appetizer that we always got whenever we went to an Italian restaurant.

"You remembered?" She ask the shock was evident in her voice. Everytime we went to an Italian restaurant back when we were together, she always got the same order. I would try and tell her to get something new but she refused.

"Of course I did," I smile and that was the start of a great date.
