Chapter 27

Nick's POV

"What are you doing here?" Jade asked the couple who came in.

You could tell who they were just by looking at them. Melony looked alot like her dad.

"We're here to see our daughter"  the lady said stepping infront of her husband. Her voiced was laced with attitude making Lily roll her eyes.

The room was quiet and the only sound that could be heard was the small sounds the baby was making.

"I don't think that is a good idea. She just got out of labor and is currently resting, as you can see," Jade says cradling the baby.

"Oh shit," I said and everyone looked at me.

"Where are the girls?" I looked at Lily.

"I don't care what you think. She is our daughter and if anyone should be in this room it is us," the father finally spoke.

"They are with their grandparents," Lily says after a while without even looking at me.

A small groan was suddenly heard and we all turned to look at Melony who was now waking up.

"What's all the noise?" she asked without opening her eyes.

"Sweetie" her mom walks pass us and went towards her. Her father followed in tow looking at us with a glare.

" Mom? Dad?" she asks with a shocked expression.

"Yes baby."

"It's us princess."

They both answered simultaneously.

"What are you doing here?"

"We came to see you and apologize and see our grandbaby. Can you please give us some privacy?" she turned towards us and without another word we stepped outside.

Jade went and placed the baby on Melony's chest.

She soon joined us outside with a slightly defeated look.

"I am so ready to go home," she sighs. I was kind of upset about how today turned out but everything happened for a reason.

We sat on the chairs for a while before we heard someone calling Jade's name.

"Jay," we turned and saw Antonio walking towards us with his daughter.

"Toni" she calls his name before rushing into his arms.

When did they even give nicknames to each other? Why is she hugging him?

Those were some of the questions running through my head.

"Hey Antonio," Lily greets him with a smile. He turned in my direction and we both gave a nod.

~ring~ ring~

My phone started vibrating in my pocket.

"Hello," my best friend's voice says on the other end.

"Wassup man," I ask walking away towards the end of the hallway.

"Look man you need to get over here real quick. Your crazy ex-fiance wants to see you".

"Who?"

"Sharon crazy ass," he laughs.

"Now! Am busy send her away. I'll be there probably a hour from now," I did not have the time or patience to deal with Sharon and her shenanigans.

I ended the call before he could say anything else.

I walked back to the door at the same time Melony's parents came out.

"Thank you guys for helping our daughter but we got it from here," the smirk on their faces was what made everyone livid.

'Wait what?" everyone asked except Antonio and his daughter Brianna.

We entered the room but this time Melony did not make eye contact with any of us.

"Melly" Jade called her name softly.

She looked down at her baby but did not look our way.

"We will be taking care of our daughter and grandchild," her father who says his name is Morris told us.

That was all it took before we saw Jade swaying. Before she could hit the ground Antonio catches her and holds her bride style. I was about to intervene but one look from Lily told me otherwise. She was very possessive over Jade and I am happy she found such friends.

"Oh my God... Is she okay?" Melony rushes from the bed towards us.

At the same time a doctor came into the room.

"What happened?" she checks Jade's temperature and her pulse.

"Follow me please," she instructs and everyone leaves the room except Melony and her parents.

Jade's POV

"Ugh what happened?" I asked once I looked around the room.

"You fell" Bre says and I looked at Antonio with an arched brow.

"You fainted," her corrected his daughter who was nodding eagerly.

The room was silent and nobody wanted to talk.

"Okay. what's going on?"

"Jade you're um-p" she was stopped by the doctor who came in.

"Great to see that you are up Ms. White. So we ran a blood test when you passed out and everything came back normal. The reason you passes out was probably due to your baby".

"Am sorry what? What does my twins have to do with any of this?" I asked the doctor confused.

"You have twins?" the doctor asks confused.

"Yes two girls."

"How do you know that? You have not reached your four months mark yet to know the gender," the doctor said with so much confusion.

"Okay am confused. what are you talking about. My twins are already one years old".

"Oh so you don't know. Ms. White you are pregnant. I'll just give you two a minute,"she says and exits the room.

"What? Who? me?" I asked shocked.

I made eye contact with Nick and he had this look on his face like I took something away from him.

Lily, Antonio, Bre left the room leaving Nick and I.

"Nick I-"

" I have one question for you. Is it his?"

The only thing I could do at this point was nod.

"Okay," he says and exits the room.

A silent sob leaves my lips at the same time Antonio enters the room.

"It will be okay," he pulls me into a hug as I cry on his shoulder.

"It's yours" I say silently and he places a kiss on my forehead.

"Do you want to have the baby?" he whispers to me.

"More than anything." I whispered to him taking in the silence of the room.

It's just so much that happened in the last twenty four hours of my life. My date with Nick took a turn for the worst, Melony had her baby, her parents are back in her life.

Then the icing on the cake is finding out that I am pregnant, again.

Maybe it was the fear of loosing another child that had me worried.

Maybe it was the fact that I am carrying a child who has a different father from my other kids. I never thought I would be a person who had two baby father's.

But I guess life had a different plan for me.
