"Fweet" the whistle blew. I shuffled through the footwork drill and scurried my way back into line. I had just blew a chance at a varsity spot on the high school football team last year and was not going to miss it this year. It was my Sophomore year and I think I had a great shot at the varsity team due to my many years of experience. It had been my passion since I was just six years old. I loved watching my favorite team on TV play, The Los Angeles Rams. I had played on a tackle football team since I was eight years old. I was a little above average weight and I played tight end my first couple of years. But before high school, I wanted to make most that weight muscle. So I worked most of it into muscle, but it took eight weeks of consistently working out and eating more healthy. I like to tell my friends that the weight I got was from eating an extra vitamin gummy bear every time there was some in the pantry.
That workout session never stopped when I entered high school because when I entered high school I was benching 160 pounds at the weight of 120. Tryouts had just ended and it was 6:00 I took out my iPhone to call my mom and tell my mom practice was over. I put the phone to my ear and waited for a bit, waiting for the beeping to stop. the beeping stopped and there was a short pause and a familiar voice came upon my ear. "Hello?" my mom said. I responded "Practice is over. Can you come to pick me up right now?" "Yes Joe, be over in five," My mom said on the phone. I hung up the call and sat on the forest green grass by the place she always picks me up.
A few minutes later a small grey 5-seat Nissan pulled up near me. I hopped up like a spring and jogged to the car. "So, how were tryouts?" "It was oll korrect," I said. I never even said oll korrect to anyone except my mom. Apart from my passion for football I also stood at a 4.0 my freshmen year, this year still sticking at an "A" in every class. Although we weren't even a month in, I still believed I would keep that grade to the end of the year. My mom and I just talked on the ride back home. Unsurprisingly, all of them were either about football and my crush. Like a lot of moms, my mom always asked, "So, who do you like?" Well, I had a crush on a volleyball player named Alyssa. She had long, dirty blonde hair that went about a couple of inches past the bottom of her shoulder blade. She had beautiful brown eyes and she always wore a smile across her face. I always blushed as I walked past her during passing time.
We had just arrived home and I walked through the garage door. I walked through one room and on the kitchen stove there was a pot filled with corn and in a slow-cooking pot was roast beef. The beef had 10 more minutes and the corn had finished 15 minutes ago. I walked into my room and played some games on my phone. Some time passed when my mom called me and my younger, 13-year-old brother up for dinner. My stomach was telling me to eat. I grabbed a plate and fork from the cabinets and drawers and walked back to the table. My mom cut me up some of the tender roast beef and I got myself some corn from the pot. I devoured my food and took a few sips of water. My stomach was begging for another serving of food. When everyone had finished eating I scraped off the food from my plate and put my plate in the dishwasher.
After that, I played some video games on my Xbox, watched youtube, and read for half an hour. After that, I was already pretty tired from tryouts so I decided to go to bed. I brushed and flossed my teeth and then used the toilet. I took off my shirt and shorts so I was in my boxers and jumped into bed. My brain danced for a while thinking about how the results would go and whether or not I would make the varsity team. But sleep overcame me and I dozed off into a deep sleep.
