Chapter 6

The crowd sat confused, shouting things, "Where are the football players!?" Suddenly the floodlights dimmed then simultaneously cut out. Most of the crowd was still confused with only a couple of people stumbling off the bleachers. Still confused more people rushed out and everyone gasped.

A gunshot sounded in the air. Police sirens fainted in the distance. More gunshots fired in the air. Shouts could be identified about 200 feet past the bleachers and toward the school. The police lights appeared foreshadowing the event of a shootout. "Bang!" "Crack!" the sounds continued for about 2 more minutes.

Everyone that was still on the bleachers, sprinted down and ran to their cars. The once huge crowd was now in heavy traffic in the town of Fort Payne.
