Jonathan
Its been about a week and a half since Mr.Hollands mishap.

Alice and I have spent a lot of time together.

And I mean, a lot.

We are always together, even if we have different classes.

We arrive early to the bus stop everyday, and we stay until the last second after we get off of the bus.

Oh, and we also talk constantly.

It's mostly just random gibberish, but it's also... meaningful?

I don't really know.

All I know is, if I don't touch her sooner or later, then I'm gonna loose it.

I... I really wanna... I really wanna kiss her.

Like really bad.

But I just don't really know when or how.

"Jonathan!" Alice comes running up to me.

"Hey!" I pick her up and spin her around.

"Ahh!" She squeals and laughs at the same time.

One of my favorite sounds.

"Put me down!" She grasps onto my shoulders trying to keep her balance.

I slowly put her down, obviously not wanting to.

She looks to my right, blushing.

And I just look at her.

She's... I can't even explain how beautiful she is.

Her hair was down today with a tiny bit of curl to it, and it was finally out of her face.

Her cheeks have a little bit of color to them from the cold, and she's wearing one of my many jean jackets. (It's my oldest one, so why wouldn't I give it to her?)

She looks over to me, figuring out I'm staring.

She looks happy.

And that's when I notice.

Oh hell no.

She has a small cut right above her left eyebrow, and her left eye has a lightly tented purple ring around it.

"Alice! What happened?!" I bring my hand up to her face to inspect it, but she quickly swats it away. "Nothing happened. I fell."

"Bullshit. Tell me." I say angrily.

"I did, Jonathan!" She huffs and crosses her arms.

"No, you didn't. Don't lie to me."

"Jonathan..." The bus pulls up the the stop.

She starts to walk towards it, but I grab her wrist.

"Please tell me." I say softly.

She hesitantly nods her head, and we walk into the bus in silence.

Alice
Do I want to tell Jonathan that my aunt slapped and punched me in the face because I made her look bad at the grocery store? No.

But do I have to? Yes.

So, I did.

Once I finish, his hands are clenched by his side.

He's just looking at the back of the bus seat, breathing heavily.

"Are-are you ok?" I whisper to him after a while.

"I'm fine." He grumbles then looks at me.

Well, not exactly at me, but at my eye.

"I can't believe she did this to you."

"It's okay, really, it doesn't even hurt." I give him a small smile.

"Uh huh. Sure." He turns back to facing the front.

I hold his hand in between us, laying it on the seat, while I lay my head on his shoulder looking at the back of the grey bus seat.

His head leans on top of mine, and we just stay like that until we arrive at school.

Eek.

This was not a good chapter.

But, ya know, what can ya do? 🤷‍♀️
