chapter three:class

"Okay class everybody settle down we have a new student why don't you tell us your name" the teacher said as I pulled out a notebook from my book bag.

"Um my name is Maze Bright" I said followed by whispers I couldn't really hear what people where saying but I heard keywords such as Freak show, death and fire.

"Okay everybody quiet down, well Maze my name is Ms. Fare welcome to English class" Ms. Fare said happily followed by Adam and Zara walked in.

"Zara Adam please have a seat i'm not giving you detention since it is the second day of school but if you make this a habit you will be on your way" Ms. Fare said sternly followed by a huff and eye roll from Zara.

"Well class since everybody is here lets begin"  she said happily clapping her hands together. Now if you would ask me what she was talking about I couldn't possibly know what what was happening.

"Hey, freak show" someone whispered behind me causing me to roll my eyes.

"Hey fre-" the person said again but before they could finish I snapped my pencil and turned around quickly.

"My name is Maze, I will light anything you value on fire and not blink twice if you call me that again got it" I whispered yelled at a girl with red and brown eyes causing her to just roll her eyes.

"Whatever here" she said as she handed me a note before going back to drawing as I snatched the note and opened it. Stay away from Adam -love Zara the note said causing me to roll my eyes and ball up the note.

"Hey Maze" Elijah said startling me.

"What" I said as I stop doodling on my notebook.

"Class is over" he chuckled lightly as he started packing his bag causing me to get up and do the same.

"You don't seem like you were paying attention," he said as he waited for me to finish packing my stuff.

"That obvious" I said as I followed him out the class?

"Pretty sure you would probably still be in that class to the end of school if I didn't say anything" he said causing me slightly to chuckle.

"I know we just met and stuff but can I ask a favor" he said slowly?

"Depends" I said questionable.

"I just want to take a picture of you and I don't mean nothing weird just a normal picture after school and I can give you notes for this class and help you find your other class" he said quickly.

"Um sure where is the picture going" I said shrugging my shoulders and pulling my schedule out of my back pocket and handing it to him.

"It's for this competition i'm entering for photography I need the money I want a new camera and as you can probably tell by now the people here suck" he said as he looked at my schedule.

-end of school-

"Hey so you have to tell me how are you even friends with Zara and Adam I mean no offense but you don't seem like the type to hang with them" I said as we walked down the hall?

"Well believe it or not I'm actually Adam's brother well adopted brother but still and I don't know we always been close" he said casually as we got to my locker.

"Really?"

"Yeah honestly Adam he always looked out for me like an older brother would and well Zara would follow Adam to the end of the world.

"Oh I can take you home by the way after the photoshoot but I got to go to the bathroom" he said quickly as he ran towards the bathroom causing me to pull out my phone and message my brother and sisters about how i'm going to be late coming home.

"Hey Maze" I heard a voice down the hall yell as I looked up and saw Adam causing me to internally groan.

"Um hey Adam" I said awkwardly as he finally stood in front of me.

"Hey i'm sorry about how Zara acted towards you" he said sincerely as he looked down at me slowly walking forward causing me to take a few steps back.

"It's fine h-" I started to say.

"No I can make it up to you honestly how about I take it out to eat" he said as I was now back on the locker and his hand was on the lockers behind me and all I could think of was if he tried anything to knee him downstairs.

"Actually I'm good" I said forcing a smile and started to walk away but he grabbed me by my arm causing me to use my other arm and pull him in and kneeing him in the stomach hard causing him to double over in pain.

"Maze" Elijah said shocked at what he saw as he came closer.

"Hey what's going on" a teacher yelled down the hall causing me to run towards the exit with Elijah following behind me.
