The little cupboard under the stairs was Harry's sanctuary today. Yesterday he'd called Dudley a pig for eating dessert that was supposed to be Harry's. Two days without food Uncle Vernon said. He only had to make it through today before he could eat again. The little clock above Harry's bed said 6:30 in the morning. Aunt Petunia would let him out soon to use the bathroom. Harry had planned to fill up on water from out of the tap, to keep the hunger pains away.

"Guess I'll lie down as I wait" Harry said to himself.

When his eyes opened again it was to the sound of Uncle Vernons gruff voice.
"Petunia! Are you still outside?"

"Yes" she responded from far away. Harry sat up, expecting the door to be unlocked.

"We're leaving now!" Uncle Vernon shouted. The sound of the front door closing. He'd remembered Uncle Vernon was driving Dudley to the park to see his friends. The clock above now said 9:15. As Harry's hand grabbed the handle, the door remained locked.

"Aunt Petunia?" He said, but got no response. He sat back down on the bed. 'I've been forgotten'.

Harry wouldn't have minded, if he wasn't so thirsty.
