The next day she womanned up (that's something Hülya used to say) and invited her over. She knew she just had to get it over with, and if things changed after the tea was spilled, then that'd be just the way it was. She couldn't hide this side of herself anymore, she had to tell someone, and they used to talk about boys and crushes all the time, they should be able to talk about her crush on Hannah too.

When Hülya came over they went upstairs to Wendy's bedroom. She sat her down on the bed and just blurted it out. "What do you mean? Bisexual?" was the first thing Hülya said. It wasn't really the response she had hoped for, but it wasn't the worst possible outcome of this conversation either. "Bisexual, like, I like boys and girls," she replied, "right now I have a crush on, uh," she paused, before she continued, with a trembling in her voice, "Hannah." Hülya was silent for a couple of seconds, until she said, "so, if you're bisexual, does that mean that when you're singe, you're bi yourself?" And that was that. They went on talking about her crush on Hannah just like they had talked about her crush on Alexander when that was happening, and it felt like the most normal thing ever. This, Wendy was eternally grateful for. Nothing changed and it wasn't awkward or anything she had worried so much about, it was just two girls talking about crushes and love, and all was good.

Well, not everything. She still didn't know how to tell her dad, and, you know, literally everyone else, but she decided not to worry about that right now. From this moment on, she would take everything as it came and come out whenever she felt ready, which probably wouldn't be anytime soon.
