Shattered Smiles (A Choni Story)

Chapter 3

"I was going, tonight, to get Cheryl back."

Cheryl's POV
It was dark and cold in my room. The bed was just a flat metal board with a blanket and a pillow. My room had 1 window very high up but if I looked at it was so dirty I couldn't see anything out of it. I missed Toni, I missed my cousin and my other friends. I knew Toni would rescue me eventually, I have faith in her. I know she'll come.

Sometimes this strange lady will come into my room with two giant men behind her. One of the men were always holding a tray that was covered in pills that they would force down my throat. After taking the drugs my eyelids would get heavy and I would pass out and wake up hours later. I always woke up from the same  nightmare, Toni finally came to rescue me but a worker walked in and shot her in front of me. I always woke up drenched in sweat. I always woke up crying.
On Tuesday we have a movie night and everyday I have an hour of physical therapy. From what I've gathered I know that they wake us up at 4 in the morning and give you breakfast to eat in your room. At 3 in the afternoon we have lunch. At 8 you are sent back to your room without a dinner. They serve us this disgusting food here. I don't know what it even was so I usually wouldn't eat it. Yes, I said usually. I have been here for 2 weeks now. I won't give up on Toni. Not yet. She's too hard working and stubborn to move on when people tell her to, she'll be here to save me soon. I'm sure of it.

Toni's POV
I told Kevin to grab Veronica and his truck so he could meet me at Thistle House.
Ten Minutes later
I heard a honk outside my home. I didn't need to look through my window to see who was outside because I heard someone blasting Troye Sivan and I immediately knew it was Kevin and Veronica. Not only the music they were listening to made their identities evident but the fact that they were screaming the lyrics also made it extremely obvious.
I love how even though everything can be going so, so wrong Kevin and Veronica always try to think of the positives.
I walk out of the house and get into the Kevin's car. They don't notice me because they are too busy singing so I decided to scare them.
Once I am settled in the car I slam the door really loudly.
"Ahhhhh!" Kevin and Veronica screamed. I started laughing and they both turned around to look at me.
"Oh fuck you." Veronica said to me.
"God dammit Toni, you scared me." Kevin said.
"Sorry." I say finally calming down after laughing my heart out.
"Whatever, why did you tell me to pick you up with Veronica, Toni?"
"I've decided that we are breaking Cheryl out of The Sister's tonight." I say confidently, I am not taking no for an answer.
"What?!" Veronica exclaimed.
"Are you crazy, Toni?!" Kevin yelled at me.
"For Cheryl? Yes." I replied calmly. I expected this reaction. They can be kinda over dramatic.
"Ok, ok, whatever. Stop being in love for two seconds." Kevin said. That comment made Veronica giggle in the front passenger seat and made me scoff.
"Never." I said.
"I LOVE CHERYL BLOSSOM!" I yelled just to bother Kevin. Everything I said was true.
"Alright lovebird, calm down." Veronica said seriously.
"Oh come on Veronica," Kevin started obviously annoyed,"it was obvious that Toni was about to go on a rant about how much she loves Cheryl."
"Oh fuck off, you were the one that told her to stop being in love." Veronica reasoned.
"Whatever. I'm down to break Cheryl out but do you have a plan?" Kevin looked at me expectantly.
"Well, I wanted to leave now and drive to The Sister's so we have time to look around, find an exit and figure out how we would break in once it gets dark out." I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
"So let's get going."
Kevin nodded, agreeing with Veronica.
"Let's go."
