Moonlight

My feet touch the sand
Saltines in the breeze hit my tongue
My eyes were filled with stardust
Moonlight making me forever young

The whirls of the waves came to me,
And whispered in my ear;
I moved my eyes about, to check
And made sure no one hears
A single word from the generous waves

The waves giggled and said-
"Don't worry love, the moonlight will permit no one to hear."
Not being content I replied
"But soon it will disappear
That's the thing that makes me fear."

The generous waves got silent
Went back to the sea
And returned with a lighter breath
"Then please, let everyone hear my voice
I'm not yours, it's a sole night myth."

Speaking so the waves went away leaving me in tears
I looked above, screaming high
"Never go away moonlight
Let's mould my truth into a beautiful lie."

That was the moment when the clouds devour my moon
Taking it out my sight
Leaving me to forever gloom.

This poem means a lot to me.
It's about how we  sometime become so possessive about someone we love that we don't see, we are caging them.

Just like in the poem the boy didn't want anyone to hear the sound of the waves under the moonlight because of his possessiveness.
The boy feels special to be the only one hearing the whispers of the waves under the moonlight, but he needs to understand that the waves are not only his, but everyone else's too.

The disappeared moon symbolises something really special, but it's a secret.
