Mia's POV:

Metallic clanking echoed through my ears, my lungs and legs burned as I dashed through the dark corridors of the Maze. I reached a dead end and screeched to a halt catching my breath as the clanking stopped beside me with a small roar. I laughed at the small Griever before giving him an 'almost there' look. Timmy whirred a couple times and I just shook my head, he knows his mother will kill me if he isn't back before sunrise. I gave him a stern look making him click huffily. Timmy scuttled away back towards the Cliff and I waited until he was out of sight before I climbed up the ivy clad walls toward the top. I hauled myself on top of the maze walls and jogged toward the edge that lead to the Glade. When I arrived I sat down on the edge where if anyone looked, they wouldn't see me. The moon cast a few stray beams at the glade and I saw the first few Runners wake up and head toward the Deadheads where the Runner building was located. I watched for about ten minutes when the sun began to peak over the East wall so I stood up, stretching and running back toward the cliff. I arrived just as the Grievers had almost all entered the Griever hole. I joined the line and when it was my turn, I jumped over the edge of the cliff, falling, falling, landing. I landed in a small puddle but shrugged it off. The small red light glowed in the room and I walked over to my corner of the room where I had set up my small bed. The Grievers all shut off and I slowly fell asleep.

~ (A few months later)

I watched from the high wall as the Gladers all gathered around the box since the Greenie alarm was going off. After almost ten minutes the alarm stopped and the box opened. Gally and a couple others jumped into the box and pulled the new Greenie up onto the grass. He looked around frantically before sprinting toward the West door, I sat in between North and East walls so I was safe from view. From what I could tell from afar the new boy had shaggy black hair, not as shaggy as Winston's though and he was in great shape to be a runner. At least until he tripped and fell on his face, that's gotta hurt. Some of the guys came and got him before putting him in the Slammer. A couple minutes later Alby went and got him for the tour. I watched for a little bit as they talked to Newt and then to Chuck. Alby left the new Greenie with Chuck to fix his hammock. I looked down the maze corridor and saw Minho and Ben starting toward the exit and I watched as the ran into the Glade and past Chuck and the Greenie who had walked toward the door in curiosity. They said something to them before running toward the Deadheads to record their route. I could sense that something was gonna happen so I decided to get closer. I neared the door they were at and hid behind some ivy as I watched. The Greenie was about to enter the maze when Gally came out of nowhere and shoved him to the ground, good thing too, it's almost sundown. A couple other Gladers including Alby and Newt ran over to calm them down. The Greenie started getting angry and demanding answers when there was a howl from within the maze, that would be the Griever's waking up. The doors started closing and I watched the Glader's faces disappear behind the stone. I climbed back up and watched as the Gladers all slowly went to sleep. I watched over them for a few minutes before I heard a whirring from below. I glanced down, spotted Timmy and smiled as I jumped down onto his back. Timmy reared on his rear legs and then sprinted off with me on his back into the depths of the maze.

~ (The next day)

I'm so excited, Timmy's mom finally let me take him out during the day! She just told me to keep him out of trouble and away from the Runners. I nodded and we took off down the corridors, I know all their routes so it will be easy to avoid them. We managed to avoid them up until lunch when Ben came our way. I saw him a split second before he rounded the corner where we stood but I wasn't able to react quick enough. Luckily Timmy did, he jumped in front of me to hide me from view. When Ben rounded the corner he froze as he saw Timmy. Timmy growled at him as a warning but Ben decided to be an idiot and attacked Timmy. The little Griever had to defend himself and he tried not to hurt Ben and just knock him out but Ben ended up getting stung and passing out. I gave Timmy a look and he looked down. I gave out a huff and helped the unconscious boy onto Timmy's back so that we could transport him. I hopped on and held tight onto the blonde so that he wouldn't fall. I showed Timmy the way to where Minho's path would lead on his way back. We arrived about fifteen minutes before Minho was set to come down the corridor. I took Ben off of Timmy's back and placed him in a laying position where Minho should find him. Ben groaned and opened his eyes for a second and I leapt onto Timmy's back. Timmy jumped and we watched from a safe place above just to make sure that Ben would be found. Ben stirred and soon stood before Minho could get there. We watched as Ben started running back to the Glade and I got worried. I got off of Timmy and motioned for him to stay put and he nodded. I ran along the tops of the Maze above Ben so that I could keep an eye on him. He reached the door by the Deadheads and I watched him run off into the trees. I had a bad feeling so I continued to watch and soon a scream could be heard, but who's? All the boys that were in the Glade turned toward the deadheads as the Greenie ran out of the tree line but Ben tackled him, shit. The boys all ran over and forced Ben off of the Greenie and Newt helped the boy up. They lifted up Ben's shirt to see the sting mark as he struggled and shouted. I heard him saying that it was all the Greenie's fault and he said my name. I felt him look at me and we locked eyes, I looked at him sorrowfully and he tried to point at me. He shouted where I was and as the Gladers looked I ducked down. Alby told him that I was dead and not coming back before sending him toward the slammer. I sighed and headed back to Timmy. On the way I saw Minho heading back to the Glade but he didn't see me as I ran back and found Timmy where I left him. He was sitting down, most likely taking a nap but instantly woke up when I arrived. I motioned back to the cliff and he nodded, I hopped on and we went to check in with his mom.
