Braxton N. Fletcher
I rolled over in bed, seeing Key sound asleep next to me. He looked so cute, and to be honest, I wish I could stay like this forever. But, I had to leave.
I was beyond scared that Brittany would find out, and to he completely honest, I was a little scared of the whole 'Mercedes has hitmen' shit.
So, I grabbed all my shit and left.
I sped to the shop, and Brittany was already there.
I brushed my once messy hair into a straight ponytail, and I fixed my clothes.
Didn't hide the fact that I had on Key's hoodie, he'll get it back.
I just needed something to cover my hickies.
"Well, look ehat that cat dragged in. Or, should I say what Key dragged in, huh?" She looked up at me.
"Brit, what the hell are you talkin' bout?" I tried to play dumb as I walked around the store, setting things up.
"You spent the night with Key. Brax, listen.. you're a grown ass woman, and I can't tell you who you can and can't date. But, there's something you should see," Brittany said, pulling out her phone, sliding it towards me.
I sighed hestiantly as I came across a news article, reading something about a murder of a missing woman.
MISSING WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN LAKEVIEW FOREST.
Ariel De Santa, 22 years old, was found dead in the middle of the forest.
She was stabbed to death, and she had succumbed to one last additional ailment, which was a gunshot to the face.
We have no leads on this story, but we will release information on this case soon.
Stay tuned.
"Damn, Brittany. Who is that?" I asked, shaking my head.
"Ariel. Key's ex and Mercy's old employee. She went missing for about two weeks, then boom. Dead," She said, looking at me.
"So?" I questioned.
"So, this isn't suspicious to you one bit?" She asked me.
"No, Britt," I lied.
"Braxton, look. She was killed about 3 miles from Mercy's building. The one that she snatched up from us. And, she worked for Mercy, and she was dating Key. Why are Key and Mercy always so awkward around each other? That'd only-" I cut her off.
"Brittany, stop! This shit sound crazy, bro. Are you trying to say they had something to do with this shit?" I asked.
"Actually, yeah! Yeah, I am. C'mon, Braxton, think! All of a sudden, Mercy starts doin' random ass bust ins at this store, and Key suddenly begins being nice to you?!" She yelled, stepping from behind the counter, her arms folded.
"Man, please. You don't know Key," I rolled my eyes, chuckling.
"I guess you right, huh? And neither do you, but you know that dick, huh?" She chuckled.
I could feel my nostrils flare up as I looked at her in disbelief.
"So fuckin' what?! We had sex, and you pissed off for that?" I yelled.
"No, you not even listening to shit I'm telling you, B! Listen, you grown, whatever. I get it. But, I don't want shit happening to you! You still my baby cousin, and I'mma look after you, if you like it or fucking not! You're hardheaded as fuck, and I would hate for that to be the reason why some shit happens to you! You gone really do something that gets yo' ass hurt or killed like that damn girl!" She pointed in my face, her eyes filling with tears.
I sighed as I backed away, putting my hand across my mouth, looking down at the ground.
She was right. Everything she said was right, but, we weren't kids anymore.
"Look, Brittany... I trust you, I do. But, I wanna see if this goes right," I looked up at her as she nodded her head.
"I have a feeling 'bout this. But, okay..," Brittany looked up at me.
"I love you. Thank you, mama bear," I chuckled as I hugged her.
"I'll do whatever to keep my baby safe," She smiled, hugging me.
Markeyvius Cathey.
I walked into Mercy's office, seeing her typing onto her keyboard. Her annoying ass kept calling me, and Braxton had disappeared this morning on my goofy ass.
So, I might be back to square one.
"What, man? I ain't in the mood for yo' dramatic bullshit, Mercy," I sighed, rubbing my eyes as I sat down.
"Brittany's finding out to much. I might need you to... erase her?" She asked me, putting a Glock 17 onto the table.
"Hold on, hold on. Mercy, it's too early for that! I can't kill nobody yet! You ain't even letting me gain they trust, stupid," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Fine! But, if she finds out, I'm killing everybody. Just get this shit done, Markeyvius. I'm getting impatient. Now, get out," She glared at me.
I smacked my lips and pushed her bookshelf over, walking out of her office.
I was getting really tired of this shit.
