Max let go of El and looked at her outfit. It was a pink and fluffy long sleeve, with light blue jean shorts. Max finally looked up at her face and smiled "What do you wanna do first?" El's face lit up. "Can we braid our hair and listen to music?" Max nodded, grabbing El by the hand and dragging her to Max's room.
Once they got in, El gawked at the sight of her room. Max redecorated it a week before El came, and El loved it! But Max loved something else. Someone else. She loved Eleven Jane Hopper. And El, without Max knowing, loves her back.
"Wow Max, this is great!" El beamed. Max smiled as a 'thank you'. El ran over to Max's dresser and grabbed 2 hair ties, one for her and one for Max. Max turned on music and they braided each others hair.
To Max's surprise, El was gentle and she was great at braiding.
Max on the other hand, was rough and she kinda sucked.
El didn't mind though, she was to focused thinking of Max's icy blue eyes and fiery red hair. El blushed while thinking of her. She was so deep in thought, that Max had to shake her.
"What?" El said with a giggle. "You alright?" El nods and turns to face Max. "You like anybody?" El spoke, without thinking. "I-I mean-" "Yep I do." Max interrupted with a shrug. "Who?" Max's face grew red. "I-I can't tell you. You'd hate me!" "How could I hate such a beautiful person like you?" Max's face went redder.
"Um.." El sighs at Max and says something she wanted to say for years. "Max, I love you. More than I should. I hope you feel the same way." Max has a shocked expression, which causes El to panic. "I-I get it. Y-you don't l-like me back! T-that's okay! I knew you wouldn't, I'm sorr-" Max cuts El off by smashing her lips into El's. El doesn't hesitate to kiss back. They soon pull away and Max smirks at El. "Of course I love you back you dummy." "So, Max. Does this mean you'll be my girlfriend?" "Duh!"
Huh, it really is the summer of love.
