3: Let the games begin

Arabella says goodbye to Taehyung and Eva and logs out of the game. Her eyes open and all she can see is the dark back inside of the headset she is wearing. She takes a deep breath as she pulls the gaming headset off of her head and blinks a few times before looking with blurry eyes at the clock on the wall to her right.

2:56am.

Oh wow. Time really does fly when you are having fun. It was only like 8pm when she first logged on, hours feel like minutes in the virtual world. Arabella stands up and stretches her body for a few seconds before crossing the small living room to sit at her computer table. She turns the computer on and pulls up her email and finds a bright red notification icon showing that she has a new email from "Timeless Ages".

The email outlines the the details of the event that Arabella has been invited too in Seoul, South Korea.

The competition is made to be a full submersion game. Meaning that players will be put into their own private room at a state of the art facility where they will be hooked up to monitors and artificial hydration and nutrition in order to stay in the game nonstop. The built in game function that forces a logout when you falls asleep in real life will be disabled. Also, since artificial hydration and feeding will be given the game has also set up a function where the player in game will still feel hungry at regular intervals even though their real body is being fed.

All of this essentially means that players will have to live in the game like it is real life. Meaning planning time for sleep and meals in order to take care of your character.

After the first 48 hour mark all players will be simultaneously teleported to the main hub and will forced to log off for an 8 hour period of time to eat and stretch their real life bodies. After that first break another stretch break will be given every 72 hours unless the player wishes to force a logout, effectively terminating their place in the competition. Emergency logouts can be allowed if medically or necessary or in the case of familial crisis or death. In this circumstance, the player has a 24 time limit to return to the game after exiting due to emergency reasons.

The details of the competition itself is that all 24 players will be divided into 4 predetermined teams where they will fight alongside their group of 6 people to be the first team to reach the end of a major quest. Each team member will start up the game at the same spawn point as their other members. But each of the four teams will start at different locations on the map.

The key factor to these teams is that thesy are not set in stone, they simply an attempt by the game makers to allowed players to make new allies and friends. Players can leave teams and recreate new teams as they wish once the game starts up. Meaning if someone wants to play solo they can, or they can leave their original team and start a new team with players that they meet from another team.

Any player who either forfeits their spot in or dies within the game will be eliminated from the competition and will no longer have a chance at being on the elite team.

The last 10 players standing from any team or solo player will be allowed to join the elite team and win the competition.

The game will be live streamed worldwide and will be given TV and media time in nearly every country. There will be player rankings set daily and fans can even vote for their favorite players. The fan favorite of the day will receive a bonus reward as well as the top player of the day who has the most EXP or kills.

At the bottom of the email is a plane ticket and a confirmation code for Arabella's one special room the game makers are providing. All she has to do is put in her personal details and sit submit. The flight is booked for three days out and is round trip. All players will receive payment for their participation on the completion regardless of the outcome.
