Christopher and I had a lot more dates after that. We finished our senior year strong. I was preparing for Christopher and I graduation party.
On one of our dates, Christopher had took me to meet his parents, who insisted on me calling them by their first names- Lillian and William. The graduation party was thrown by his parents and invites were sent to his family and mine. My mom had got a stable job at the local cafe.
The party was in full swing by the time me and my mom had arrived. Christopher's parents greeted us and led me to Christopher who was standing in the kitchen. I wrapped my arms his torso and kissed his back shoulder blade.
"Hey, Christopher."
"Hey, Emilia." He turned around and gave me a peck on my forehead.
" You look beautiful as always, my love. "
At some point in the party, Christopher and I left the party to take a walk in the park. Then we came across a place decorated with fairy lights.
"I've been wanting to do this since the moment I met you. Emilia, you mean the world to me. I can't stand not being around you, and not being able to see your face. So to make sure that doesn't happen..."
He said getting down on one knee, he pulled out a red box and opened it to reveal a 18 karat ring with a silver band.
"Emilia Green Waterson, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"
I'm pretty sure that my eyes were watering but I knew that this was someone I wanted to be with for the rest of my life.
Without any hesitations, I replied with a, "Yes, of course I'll marry you!"
He placed the ring on my finger and picked me up, smashing his lips against mine.
" Words cannot explain how much I love you."
"I know. We should probably head back now. We've been going for a while now." I said, bringing his lips to meet mine.
" Okay."
We walked back to his house, goofy grins plastered on our faces. By the time we had made it back to his house, the sign had been replaced with an 'Congratulations!' I'm pretty sure that his parents and my mom knew what he was up to tonight. We were greeted by what seemed like a thousand congratulations. Life couldn't be more perfect.
