Friends Like Us (REVAMPED)

Lucy sat alone in lunch detention, nobody else was there. She just calmly ate her lunch with a frown on her face, occasionally slowly kicking her feet back and forth.

Nobody entered the room for the first 5 minutes, which reassured Lucy that she was going to be eating alone. She wished someone managed to get themselves in trouble at lunch, just so she would have some company.

And oh boy, somebody did.

Lucy looked up at the door as soon as she saw it open, with a familiar figure walking over to her and sitting by the desk next to her.

"Hey Lucy!" Natsu smiled. "I didn't think you were one to get in trouble!"

Lucy sighed, continuing eating the sandwich she packed for lunch. "I was late for class, Ms. Aquarius' class more specifically. She doesn't like me too much, in-fact she hates my guts."

"Oooooh," Natsu replied. "Well, I wanted to sit with you at lunch! I didn't see you, so I checked the library. You weren't there, so I did the only logical thing and got in a fight with this dumbass named Gray!"

Lucy slapped her forehead. "That's a logical solution? I don't think fighting with Gray is a good idea, Natsu. You could've always just walked in here without having to get in trouble."

"You know Gray?! Isn't he a dumbass?!" Natsu yelled, slamming his fist on the desk, yet still having a smile on his face.

Lucy let out a sigh. "Actually, Gray's one of my close friends. I don't think he's a 'dumbass' at all. He's really smart if I'm being honest."

"Oh, does Miss. Lucy Heartfilia over here have a little thing for Mr. Gray Fullbuster?" Natsu laughed, Lucy punched his arm and he quickly stopped laughing.

"Geez, can't a girl have a guy best friend without someone thinking that she likes him! This isn't second grade, Dragneel." Lucy puffed her cheeks.

Natsu scratched the back of his head and started chuckling. "Sorry Lucy, won't happen again!"

"Better not, but to answer your question I don't like Gray in that way. In all honesty, nobody here meets my expectations to what people call 'boyfriend material'. In my opinion, Gray is probably the only normal guy here."

Natsu frowned. "Aw, I'm not normal."

Lucy smiled. "Well, you're weird in you're own way if you wanna call it that."
