Hush Hush

It was late, beyond so, and the blue eyed teen knew he was in trouble. He wasn’t going to make curfew, he couldn’t really, Ember had needed something, what, well, she hadn’t quite said. No, she had approached him, a thoughtful frown on her purple coated lips, blue, flames of hair mellow, had it not flickered, Danny would have believed it were merely dyed a sky blue.

But no, brilliant green eyes stared back at him, they had anyway, and the black make up had smeared, giving the female warrior a look of despair.

But then she had scowled again, and Danny had watched with caution. Yes, her issues would get her to stop being a problem if he left her alone, it was that simple really. But the Fenton teen had to wonder, why, why was she so desperate? The ghost zone was drilled into some time ago yes, but how old was the female punker really? She looked merely seventeen, and yet...Sky blue eyes blinked rapidly.

“-are grounded, do you understand?”

His mother’s violet eyes were gleaming under her red goggles, and he swallowed, nodding with a hushed, yawned, ‘Yes Ma’m’ it was better not to argue, it wasn’t as if he could tell her.

Could he?

“H-Hey....Mom?”

He didn’t mean to stutter, but, he needed to know. “Yes?” The goggles were gone now, the blue of her hazmat suit pulled back, the entirety of her face revealed and Danny swallowed. Why was it so much more difficult to tell his mother, the mom, rather than his mother, the hunter?

Well, she’s more of a scientist than a hunter. She’d probably dissect you if she ever found out, if, she ever finds out.

But how much longer can I hide this? I can’t just live with my mom and dad forever....but if I leave, Amity park will be overwhelmed in mere days!

“Danny? Sweet heart? Are you okay?” Intelligent, so intelligent, his mom had always known when something was wrong. Danny stammered, and swallowed, speaking quickly. “I...I’m a little interested in what...you do! So....could you, you know, talk about it over left overs?”

Those suspicious violet eyes brightened, a gleam of her famed intelligence growing, sparking like poisonous flames. Danny was scared of his own mother, and for good reason, but for now, he had to know. He couldn’t do this forever.

“Of course honey! Why didn’t you just say so?” Her arms, still covered in her suits flesh, pulled and stretched as she moved, crossed under her bust area. “You weren’t attacked by a ghost though, were you?” More like being confused by them, but, he couldn’t very well say that, could he? “No, no, I just....theres a lot of ghosts here, and, I want to be able to better....protect, Sam and Tucker if I had to.” Sam. He had documents, an old journal filled with records he has made of the ghosts he has encountered.

All ranging from their strengths to their weaknesses.

Some, were circled, never to let out of sight, or to leave with Clockwork, like Dan. Dan, who he had almost became, and all because of a test? Danny wondered if Clockwork hadn’t sent Boxlunch, if he would never have gotten the answers, failed or passed on his own, maybe then time and reality, he wouldn’t wake in a cold sweat, eyes glowing acid green in his fear.
