I froze. My hands started to clam up and I could feel my blood boiling inside of me. My eyes glanced over to the beaten up Kookheon whose scared eyes were staring right back at me, pleading for me to not agree to this absurd deal. Then staring at the sickening man in front of me plaster a smirk on his face, I growled out, "What the fuck did you just say to me?"

Mr. Kim laughed loudly as he bent forward to rest his hands on his knees, "Ha...oh dear I'm sorry it's just, seeing you act all tough is hilarious."

My foot stepped forward only for his hand to shoot up and stop me from going any further and he spoke, "Don't even move an inch or I'll shoot them both."

His fingers snapped and in a second two buff men both wearing black came out from the side of the room holding guns in their hands, pointed at Ara and Kookheon. Their arms were covered in tattoos and I could spot a few on their faces. These were men I wasn't about to mess with.

I stopped my tracks and gritted my teeth, "Why are you doing this? Let them go right now or I swear I will not hesitate to literally rip your head off of your body."

He smiled sheepishly at me and straightened himself up before taking his steps closer to where I was standing, Seungyoun tense behind me. "Because," He started, "I'm doing the same exact thing Ara did to me 5 years ago today."

I closed my eyes and sighed in frustration as the memories were rushing back to me.

Flashback

"Wait, what?" 9th grade Ara looked at me with confused eyes starting to well up, "I don't understand...?"

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, staring at her on my front lawn, "Sweet, I just don't like you like that. Come on don't do this, we're best friends."

She shook her head vigorously while throwing the white poster covered in glitter and hearts reading the sentence, 'I hope I'm not too late, will you be my formal date?' Neatly written across the top in stickers on the muddy grass and stomping on it.

She started to choke sobs as she threw the roses she bought me right at my chest. I caught them and stared at her sadly. She looked up at me with her tear stained cheeks, "I hate you! Don't ever talk to me again!" Then she ran off.

I sighed and decided to run after her since she was my best friend and I didn't want her to hate me. But she was already in her moms car by the time I got to her. I yelled out, "Sweet wait! I didn't mean to hurt you, please!"

She didn't look at me through the window. I just watched sadly as her mom drove off into the distance down my block. As her car grew smaller and smaller with every inch it drove further, the feeling of regret grew larger and larger in me.

I just stood there quietly, looking down at the already beaten up roses in my hands. I turned around and stared at the now ruined poster all smushed up on my lawn. I slapped my forehead as I thought about how dumb I was, going up to it and picking it up off the grass.

I brought it inside of my house, going upstairs to keep it in my room. As I got inside, I unscrambled the poster up and straightened it out the best I could before displaying it on my desk. It was so pretty. Yet my reaction to it was ugly.

What was I thinking. I'm such an idiot. She obviously liked me enough to make me this and buy me flowers, why was I so afraid to say yes?

"WHAT?"

My head snapped into the direction of my open bedroom door, hearing my moms voice filled with horror. I decided to go see what's wrong, getting up from my bed and rushing down the stairs into the kitchen. I looked up at my mom, "What's going on?"
