Elise POV
It's been almost a week since Storm's encounter with Sadie. Of course, I taught her a lesson. A good one too. Went along the lines of,
"Back off bitch, or you'll be six feet underground when I'm through with you." Her face was priceless; my victory was short lived when she decided to beat up my little twin brother and sister. Speaking of them, I haven't seen 'em since. Where the fudge brownies are they? I swear I will kill the bitch in her sleep if she was the reason for their disappearance. Tomorrow is my birthday though, which is good. Back to the present. I'm currently wandering the large forest that surrounds our small tribe (pack for all you werewolves reading this) looking for my lil' bro 'n' sis. If you don't know already their names are Ethan and Sandy, Storm and I adore them. Which is why I'm so worried about them right now. I haven't seen them for three days. Storm has recovered from Sadie's lame ambush. As Familiars it doesn't take us very long to heal. It's also almost impossible to kill us too (Which kinda sucks 'cos I wont be able to make Sadie's death quick). The only reason it isn't impossible is because nothing is impossible. In many ways my kind is similar to werewolves, for example:
- - fast healing
- - ability to shift into an animal
- - mates/sparks
- - packs/tribes
- - Alphas, Betas (although unlike some werewolf packs we don't have omegas. Familiars agree that it's extremely cruel to keep one of your own kind, let alone pack member, as a punching bag. Why not just take it out on an actual punching bag? Or a tree, which ever is more convenient.)
- - same sent (more or less)
It is quite annoying when other supernatural beings mistake Familiars for werewolves. Although I'll admit it is quite hard to tell the difference between us but really. One of the only significant differences between us is that we are not affected by Wolfsbane, (duh) or silver. Familiars have no significant weaknesses. So it's really funny when a hunter or vamp or some other supernatural being that hates werewolves thinks one of our kind is a werewolf and tries to kill us with a silver knife or silver bullet or strap us to a silver chair with chains coated in Wolfsbane because then after awhile of stabbing, cutting, shooting etc, they realize the "Werewolf" they are trying to kill isn't a werewolf but a Familiar. It's just like if you were one of those Familiars that's had that happen to you, it's sooo tempting to just laugh out loud as they cover stuff in Wolfsbane and silver. I have been in one of those situations, so that's how I know.
Generally hunters and SBs (Supernatural Beings*) respect Familiars because of our reputation. We are quite rare, from memory there are only about ten tribes in the world.
My tribe is the Starlight Sky Tribe, by the way. My father is the Beta. And when I turn 18, and have found my spark, I will take over as the female Beta while my spark becomes the new Beta. The reason it'll be me and not Storm is because I was born before her. Our tribe is small, around 500. You may be thinking *Whoa! That's a lot of people* But compared to the other nine tribes it's small. We're about a fifth of the second smallest tribe, the Blue Night tribe down in Australia. Most other tribes refer to it as the Blue Knight tribe as they are the best tribe to go to for warriors. All of them, learning to fight at a young age. The Blue Night tribe reminds me of a faction called Dauntless - from a book series named Divergent, which is written by Veronica Roth.
