* Author's Note:
This short story is fan fiction, but it started out the same way as the others. To those that haven't seen Perception, don't worry, you ARE missing out but you won't get confused because of it.She paced the livingroom, trying hard not to cry from fear, stress, and worry. Her husband may be a paranoid schizophrenic, but he had disappeared, vanished like his hallucinations and it was making her antsy. She works for the FBI but a search has not yet been initiated because there was no proof that he is kidnapped. She jumped when the phone started to ring and smiled at his called ID, but when she answered, her chest constricted and a bad feeling pooled in her stomach.
"Daniel?" Her voice broke and soft tears silently fell. A distorted voice laughed, forcing more out of her as she pressed a shaking hand to her mouth and shut her eyes tight.
"Not quite," spoke the voice, "if you want to see your crazy husband again, you might want to do everything we say."
"Not until I know he's alive!" She shouted at him, she felt her whole body stop in anticipation, and after a moment, Daniel's warm voice flooded the line.
"Kate?"
"Daniel," she let go of the breath she didn't notice she was holding. "Daniel, are you all right?"
"Kate, don't you dare do what they tell you to do! Please, baby, DON'T listen to them!"
"I have to listen, I have to try! I can't leave you, I won't!" She shakily answered, a moment of silence passed and her anxiety levels skyrocketed. "Daniel? Daniel?!"
She looked at the phone and saw that the line disconnected. She stared at it as she weeped in the cold and empty room. She couldnt stop her imagination from jumping to conclusions and thinking of the worst case scenarios.

She walked into the warehouse, her gun ablaze and determination for finding her husband. She tracked the number using the FBI satellite and drove to the point where he call came from. There was a team waiting for her signal and when she finally gave it, they silently surrounded the warehouse and others followed her in. She waited for his voice, a sign that he's still alive. She could hear soft whisperings and her heart soared when she heard Daniel speak to Natalie, one of his constant hallucinations, about Kate and escape. She knew it was too easy, and donned on a serious look before continuing into their trap. She turned the corner and saw Daniel tied to a chair, his eyes were wide and tearful when he looked at her. She started to walk towards him but felt a dull thud in her back and fell onto the floor. She saw her gun slide across the florr, and her him click his gun behind her. He had her pinned to the floor, Daniel was helplessly watching, and their breath caught in heir throats when the gun screamed BANG and reverberated through the warehouse. Kate let her breath slide out shakily, she felt dead weight slam against her and felt her team members help her up. The moment she picked up her gun, another kidnapper barged in and, without hesitating, she put a bullet between his eyes. She untied Daniel and, when he building was secure, they kissed. She was harmless, really she was, but when it comes to the safety of the people she loved, she was deadly and unpredictable.
