❝Slow down, Jude.❞ my elder sister called out trying to keep her pace with mine. I paid her no mind and kept running towards the woods. Why? Because it was the only time of the year when you'll get to see the rare 'Crynn' flower that blooms once in fourteen years. It will remain bloomed till dusk and now the sun already seems to be setting. It is said that the flower are hard to find when you are searching for them.

❝Hurry up, we have to find it before it's gone for another fourteen years.❞ I was running as fast as my legs could take me and my sister was stumbling on the roots of the trees while trying to keep up. I have never been this excited in my fourteen years of life as I am today. I was waiting for this moment since I was a little kid, now it's finally the moment which I've been waiting for.

But suddenly I came to halt, stopping dead in my track. My sister stopped shortly behind me, crouching down, she bend over her knees while panting furiously.

❝It's the southernwood forest.❞ Leona stated. It was a creepy forest which screamed haunted. The trees were old with crooked branches, mist covered the whole forest and you could hear the owls calling out as if they were trying to warn you. I stood there hesitant to move any further.

❝Ever since the southern wood witch tragedy, this forest have held grudges; haunting souls that ever dared to step inside the forest.❞ Leona paused looking me dead in the eye, before bursting into laughter,❝You should have seen the look on your face. Calm down, It's just a pseudostory, made up by the elders to prevent their kids from wandering off, But I think we should probably return back home since it's already getting dark, mom might be worried about us.❞

❝but the 'Crynn'?❞

❝Jude—❞ my sister was left hanging in her mid sentence when suddenly there was a flash of light lit up at the entrance of the forest. It was in the shape of a globe, shining brighter than anything. There was something peculiar about it that it was drawing myslef towards it. Without rethinking my decisions, I ran as fast as my legs could take me. The globe of light moving further away as I chased it.

❝Jude!❞ My sister yelled. I kept running, all my concentration on the globe of light. My sister's voice becoming faint as I ran further away from her, our distance increasing.

Without rethinking my decision, I ran deeper into the dark forest. My sister's voice becoming fainter and fainter. I suddenly tripped over a root of the tree and fell down. My knee bleeding and hurting. I stood up and dusted the dirt off my outfit to noticed that the globe of light was nowhere in my line of sight. I was lost. My eyes wandered around the forest, getting aware of the surrounding. The forest was completely dark and the moon was the only source of light. I pushed myself to walk further.

❝Leona?❞ I called out for her while limbing around the woods trying to figure out how to get out of the forest. I kept walking around the forest until I reached a gigantic gate, which was situated in the middle of nowhere.

I went through the black, iron gate and I observed the tombstones, which layed across the massive graveyard. Spooky trees grew throught the graveyard as well. A cold wind blew roughly, sending a chill down my spine.

❝Hello?❞ I asked, ❝Anybody?❞ Hoping that there might be a keeper or someone around who could help me but it seemed as if there were no sign of life. Realization hit me hard; my legs started to shake, my palms getting sweaty, thousands of thoughts racing around my mind.

My heart was about to leap from my throat when loud howls pierced into the silence of the night sky, my eyes widened in response. Sweat was dripping down my forehead, panic completely consuming me, fear radiating off my skin.

The howls were getting intense, as if they were inching closer. I began dashing across the graveyard as fast as my legs as far as they could stretch. My heart thumping against my ribcage. I hid myself behind a massive bush which covered my whole body.

Sweat was dripping down my forehead, panic completely consuming me, fear radiating off my skin. But to my surprise, the howling gradually stopped. I thought. I slowly peaked my head to see whether I have cleared my surrounding only to notice that a bunch of men wearing armor and suit standing there before a specific tombstone.

One of the men gestures towards a petite boy who had worn cloths, which were torn off. The boy immidiately rushes off to somewhere and returns with a showel in his hand. The showel seemed to be pretty heavy as the boy kept stumbling on his way back to hand the showel to one of the men.

The soldiers started digging. They were fast, within minutes they have shovelled three foot of soil to the side. I stared in disbelief, the whole scene seem to be absured. Finally the sound of shovel striking the wood was heard. The coffin was pulled out of the hole and was carefully placed on the ground.

After a while, a tall man wearing a sliky black robe which cascaded elegantly made his way towards the coffin. His whole presence seemed to reek an aura of authority as rest of the men slightly bowed their head immediately as he stepped foreward. His hight was intimidating, he was seriously bulit; which was intriguing with the serious face he had on.

❝Alpha.❞ every single men stated in unison without lifting their head up.

The man who I assumed was the Alpha crouched down, leaning towards the level of the coffin. Slowly opening the coffin, the man had a smug look on his face.

My eyes widened in response; horrified, as he reached out for the dead's hand. His eyes examined the decayed hand which surprisingly had a ring attached to it's finger; which stood out since it shined ominously.

The alpha tried to pry off the ring from the decaying hand but utterely failed to do so even though he was well bulit and had put much effort on it.

He gestures to the soldier beside him, who immediately pulls out a dagger from his side pocket and hands it to the alpha.

The alpha, in one swift move, cuts off the ring finger to which the ring was attached, with zero hesitation. A horrified gasp makes it way out of my mouth. I immidiatly cover my hand against my mouth in response but it was too late, since all the attention we on me now.

Oh shit.
