"Aye, you black boy you're under arrest"

Was the last words I wanted to hear why did I have to get into a fight,

Normally, I would have gotten a five day suspension,

All I needed was a break I can't stand sitting in the classrooms not knowing what's going on when my mind is clouded with last weeks gruesome actions,

I can't ask for help because then I'll be considered dumb,

Now here I am falling right into the hands of the government of how they portray us to be

Being pushed right out of where I felt the most safety at, and right into the criminal justice system,

I thought law enforcements were only for our safety, not to discipline us

I'm not a criminal, that's my daddy I just watched him kill my mother last week,

I won't dare tell anybody that cause then I'll be the next one dying,

I'm dealing with emotional trauma and battling with what me and my siblings are going to eat tonight,

I can't concentrate, I have sleepless nights,

No one ask me what's wrong,

The school can't afford extra help,

And they wonder why so many of us kids lash out,

But of course nowadays black students are treated as we are suspicious everyday,

We are the "discriminatory application of discipline"

I got into one little fight , now I'm waiting for my court hiring,

The zero tolerance policy sets us up for failure, whether the school realize it or not ,

How do you expect a bunch of teenage to not act out , that's impossible,

Now, I won't say it's just the school fault or the governments

Some students just don't care,

We expect everything to be handed us ,

But our education has to be earned,

We aren't willing to stop talking in order to listen,

When we fail to realize our ears hear twice as much as we speak,

The biggest problem is that we talk entirely too much about tonight or this weekend,

Our lust for future comfort is the biggest thief of life,

Teachers don't help us unless we show that we're passionate about our education,

More time is now wasted on us wanting help when we're not helping ourselves ,

It's our fault we don't care , because we feel the need to be more dependent than independent,

Wanting handouts instead of taking them,

Robbing ourselves of our future since we're too focused on tomorrow,

While we are focusing on tomorrow the government just handed me my name
