"who was that boy benji?" Karie, benjis mom asked softly. "oh, he couldn't reach the chips he wanted so I got them for him and he was nice so we exchanged numbers." Benji said smiling softly
"you gave a random BOY your number?! who knows who he could be. gross.!" Karie said walking slowly to the milk, "wait huh? what do you mean gross?" benji looked confused.
"oh my love, you are supposed to give GIRLS your number.. not BOYS!" Karie said grabbing a jug of milk, " don't be like your father and leave us for a man. just wrong." Karie slowly placed the milk in her cart and walked away. benji stood there in shock. is my mother homophobic?! Benji thought to himself, Karie turned around and sighed. "benny,, just because your father doesn't know how to love women doesn't mean he loves you like that.. don't be afraid." Benji eyes widened, "omg.... jesus.. i- I think I'm just gonna walk home." Karie looked shocked, "what?! it's a 30 minute walk home? why would you do that?!" Karie looked at benji confused.
"just some fresh air." benji put the chips in the cart and ran out the store.
