epilogue 🗝

Hyunjin drives while Chungha was quietly listening to music on her phone.

"Hyunjin, do you have a date planned tonight?" Felix asked from the backseat.

Hyunjin looks at him through the mirror, "I was planning to take her to the mall. To you know, unwind."

"Maybe next time? Mom asked if we could have dinner with her. She's only staying for a week."

"Of course, no worries." He looks at Chungha who closed her eyes. She can't hear anything since she was wearing her earphones, "Is she okay with it?"

"I'll deal with that."

"Okay, then." Hyunjin enters the school gate and found an empty parking space.

Felix and Jisung went out of the car first, leaving the couple inside.

"Baby, come on. We're in school," Hyunjin says, shaking her body.

Chungha opened her eyes and removed her earbuds, "Do I really have to go today?"

Hyunjin laughs at her and kisses her cheeks, "Yes, now come on. First period is Teacher Kang and if we're late again, hello detention."

Felix walks along the library. He was trying to figure out why their mom is back and what she was doing here.

"Mom, w-why are you here?"

"Am I not allowed to go home and see my children?"

Chungha was quiet. The group had to stop the movie they were watching and all of them went inside Chan's room.

The three were standing in the middle of the living room.

"Yes but -"

Felix didn't finish his sentence when Mrs. Lee pulled them in for a hug, "I missed you guys so much!"

"We - uh," He eyed Chungha who just shrugged, "We miss you too?"

Felix sighs, remembering what happened the other night. He was walking continuously, not noticing the girl who was sitting at the corner.

"Sorry - Jieun?"

Jieun had her head between her toes and it looked like she was crying.

Felix knelt down beside her, "Hey, Jieun, are you okay?"

The girl wiped her eyes quickly and faced Felix, "Hi oppa. Yeah, I'm fine."

"You don't look fine to me."

"No, I was just, uhm -" She picked up a random book that was beside her, "Reading a book. It had a bad ending."

Felix furrows his eyebrows, "Jieun that's an english book."

"Y-yeah and the stories we're just -"

"Is it him again? Did he make you cry like last time?"

"No! No, it's not like that." Jieun defends the person. "We just had a slight misunderstanding that's all."

"That was the same thing you told me when we met at cafe," Felix says. "Then I saw you had a bruise on your shoulder."

Jieun touched the bruise on her shoulder. She can still feel the pain and agony caused by it. She just smiled at Felix and stands, "I'm fine oppa. I promise, this is nothing. If you'll excuse me."

Jieun walked away from him as Felix stands up. He noticed a picture on the floor. Jieun must've dropped it.

He picks the picture up. It was a picture of a couple staring at each other's eyes. They were at the beach. He noticed the girl was Jieun but he can't identify who the boy is, though he looked oddly familiar. This must be him.

He puts the picture in his pocket and proceeded to walk out of the library. As soon as he was outside, his phone rang.

"Mom -?"

"Sweetie, is it okay if we bring him to our dinner? So that you can get to know each other, too."

"Uhm, okay?"

His mom quickly ended the call as he looked confused. H-him? Who's him?"

Then it clicked. He looked at the picture of Jieun and her boyfriend again. Trying to remember where he saw the guy. He widens his eyes.

"Oh, shit." Was all that he could say.
