In Phase 0, the original heroes' powers were inherited from amulets which are in the form of bracelets. They were given by a young witch named Ivy who came to the house seaking shelter. Just to reference something to do with old witches seaking for shelter in the cold and rainy night.
In Phase 1 however in the origins story, Michael, Calum, Luke, Shawn, Raphael, Yuto, Aidan, Zoe and Thaiyo stumbled upon a book which they think is something to do with ancient China. Then they showed it to Ivy and told them the information about the book. Then she gave them the jewelry box knowing that the future is in her future heroes' hands which came true eventually.
