It took a little while to convince Rufus that everything would be alright before Freed could get up from his bed. But it wasn't like he was allowed to walk out just like that and even though it was hard for him, he let Rufus to help him to sit on a wheelchair.

"Well, at least I can move around", the rune mage sighed. He felt so helpless and it really hurt his pride but he should be thankful that he could still move at all. And it was only for one day, it still made him shiver when he even thought how things could easily be much worse.

"I still think you should rest the whole day", Rufus huffed grabbing the handles of the wheelchair. "But this way I can take you home. When we get there, you will rest on a couch if you don't want to rest in a bed."

"Alright."

Rufus pushed the wheelchair in the hallway where Laxus and Bickslow were talking. They turned to look towards them when they noticed them.

"Seeing Freed in a wheelchair is like seeing some legendary animal in the bright daylight in the middle of Magnolia", Bickslow cackled and Freed huffed.

"I can't walk so this is the only solution if I want to get out from the infirmary", he said.

"We're glad you can leave it already, things might have become far worse", Laxus said. "You were lucky this time."

"I don't feel like it when lately it feels like I'm always injured some way..."

"Now we know they might even try attacking you here at Magnolia", Rufus said. "So we have to be extremely careful."

"We found your sword", Laxus smiled and he handed over the sheathed sword with an unique green hilt.

"Thank you very much", Freed smiled taking his sword. "I was worried if it might be broken, but seems like that's not the case", he said, gently caressing the dark leather sheath.

"I just don't get it", Bickslow huffed crossing his arms and tilting his head. "What is the reason they so badly want to capture Freed? Like, is it some personal reason or do they just want his magic? Isn't there other rune mages? They should know by now that we won't let them have Freed so wouldn't it be easier for them to start looking for someone else?"

"We can't know the reason for sure before we manage to get that information from one of them", Freed frowned. "But most probably it's because of my magic."

"Well they are not going to have it", Laxus grunted. "So what do we do now?"

"I will take Freed home, he has to rest", Rufus said.

"How's the house?" Freed asked looking at Bickslow and Laxus.

"I asked someone to take a look, they told me it takes around a week or so to fix up everything", Laxus explained. "Windows, walls, the back door and some little stuff."

"So since you guys have a big house, we're gonna crash there until the house is fixed", Bickslow grinned.

"Oh what a joy..." Rufus muttered and Freed poked his side with his elbow. "I know, of course they can come", the memory mage assured immediately. "There is enough room for all of us."
