I woke up with a feeling of anticipation in my stomach. Jake had texted me last night, saying something about needing to talk to me, urgently. I was back in dancing so I was also being forced to wait an extra hour and a half to find out. I've never wanted to skip something so bad.
Taylor apparently had started working on dresses for us. She wouldn't let us see the sketches, or the material it was going to be made with. She said she would show us soon, but that was three days ago. I wanted to see it now.
"Taylor" I whined, as she slapped my hand away from her sketch pad. "No. Just be paitent, Wish. I'll let you guys see tomorrow, possibly." Taylor glared at me and Nikki who was giving her her famous puppy dog look. It wasn't working. "Fine. You better let us see tomorrow." I replied, defeated.

As I walked into English, I noticed something. It was oddly silent. I noticed everyone staring at a girl who obviously was new, and was sitting in my seat. I walked up to the girl who's hair was a wavy brown mass, and she looked up. Her green eyes widened as she looked up at me. "Uhm, hi. I'm Aleesha. Call me Leesh. I guess. Most people in this call obviously don't want to know me."
I smiled down at her "No, no they're all nice. It's just you're in my seat." I laughed. Leesh blushed deeply and got up. "Sorry! New.." she mumbled whilst moving to look for an open desk. "The one infront of me is open." I told her. "Thanks, most people wouldn't be so nice to someone that took their seat." Leesh turned to look at me.
"Exceptions are made for new students" I smiled at her. "So what're you here for?" Leesh looked surprised by this question. "Oh, I'm here for writing. What about you?" Chuckling, I replied "Dancing." Before Aleesha could respond Mr. Huffton came in.
"Okay class, take our your reports and come set them on my desk."
************
It turned out that I had a few more classes with Aleesha that day so I got to know her more. She was very spontaneous when she was comfortable with you. Very sarcastic, just like me. It wasn't a good thing when we were sitting next to each other in a class. I think I got more in trouble for talking in one day then I had the four years I had been at the school.
At lunch, I introduced Aleesha to Jake, Mike, Nikki, Jordan, and Taylor. They all seemed relaxed around her, probably because I was so calm and wasn't awkward. We were walking back to our rooms, to find out Leesh had a room fairly close to ours. Once we found this out, the bell rang. We all raced back to our classes, barely making it.
************
After school, I raced to the dance room, wanting dance to be over fast for once, wanting to know what Jake was wanting to talk about and why he seemed so distracted today. I was one of the first people dressed and streched for practice, even before many of the senior dancers.
When everyone else was out, we lined up getting ready to practice the group dance. "Ladies, ladies! Before we start practicing, I need to make an annoucement. This Saturday, I plan on holding the auditions for the solo dance. Talk to me after rehersal to get a slot for your audition. There will be few slots, first come, first serve." Mrs. Roberts lectured us. "Okay! Get ready! A five, six, seven, eight!"
We practiced the routine, with less people screwing up the steps, but people still messing up. "Girls! Good practice today! Everyone, you better be practicing in your free time! I don't want to have someone mess up when we actually preform!" I rushed up to her, wanting to get a slot before anyone else did.
"Yes Wish?" Mrs. Roberts, a small smile playing at her face. "When's the earliest slot?" I blurted. "11:30 A.M. I'm guessing you're taking it?" I giggled "Yep! Now I'm off. Thanks!" I flounced out of the room and headed straight to the band room.
When I got there, the lights were off. I opened the door cautiously, not wanting to be attacked. I flicked on the light to find Jake standing there. In a tux. Holding two ties. "Which one do you think will work better?" he said, giving me a small smirk. I strolled up to him "You think you're so funny. Too bad for you I don't know what my dress looks like. Taylor won't let us see yet." His face fell a little when he heard this.
"Well, even though you don't know, will you go with me? To the dance? I mean I know you'll show me up with your dance moves but I don't want to go alone. And with everything that happened a few weeks back... I was also wondering, if next weekend, when we're allowed to go into town again, if you'd like to go see a movie too? Like last time? Stock up on sours first though. I think the rest of the group would be coming too, but I wanted to ask you, so it wouldn't seem like I didn't want to go with you. I do though!"
He rambled on and on, it took much restraint not to kiss him. I gave up holding myself back and pecked him on the lips. It shut Jake up quick. "I'd love to go with you, to the dance, and to the movies next weekend." He smiled down at me and pecked my lips. "Thanks love."
I was elated, going to the dance and the movies with Jake, but I was also kind of sad. I mean, we had kissed multiple times, but he hadn't offically asked me out. Why not? I had no idea. I was hoping he would soon though. I didn't want to wait much longer.
************
I walked into the dorm an hour later, luckily with no homework to worry about. Nikki looked like she was about to go crazy and jump on me as soon as I walked through the door. "You took your time! I had to wait this whole time for you. And you never ONCE answered a text or call from me." I stared at her, shocked by the outburst. "Why were you in a rush to contact me?"
Taylor appeared then "Because I'm finished with our dresses." I just about screamed. "Let. Me. See. Now." Nikki and I rushed over to Taylor's corner where she blocked us from charging in. "Calm down." I tried to relax but I couldn't help but think that I would be able to send Jake the color of my dress so he could find a tie.
Taylor went over to her bed where a blanket was laying over our dresses. I watched with longing, it seemed to take hours for her hands to reach the blanket. When they finally made contact with the fabric time sped up. Suddenly the blanket had become a heap on the floor, and in it's place were three drop dead gorgueous dresses. Red, pale pink, and a daring emrald green twinkled up at us.
"Oh. My. Gosh! Taylor! These are beautiful!" The words spilled out of my mouth. I was attracted to the pink one, it was simple, but from the way it was made, you could easily move in it.
"The green one is yours Nikki. The red ones mine, and the pink is.."
"Mine." I finished in a whisper. I picked up the dress, walked over to Taylor's full length mirror, and held it up to my body. It looked like it would be perfect. I twirled to hug Taylor, to find Nikki already doing so.
"This is going to be an amazing dance!" we shouted.
