Rachel dashed through the dark, shadowy forest. The dead twigs and and leaves crunched under her every fast, sped step. The moonlight shined above her and was the only thing lighting her way. She risked a glance behind her and saw three men in blood red cloaks chasing her. Their hoods covering their faces. "I have to warn her," Rachel murmured to herself. After fifteen minutes of running, Rachel realized she couldn't out run the men. She dived behind a tree, got a piece of paper and pen out, and started writing. She scribbled her last words down and signed her name. Then she rolled it up and tied the note with a thin, light brown rope. She just remembered the bracelet on her wrist. It was a light gray, leather band with a circular charm that had a gray raven in it. Rachel tapped the bird and a gray, shining light came out of the animal charm and the light formed into a shape of a raven. The next second it became a real raven with pure white feathers, intense gray eyes, and a light yellow beak. "Find her and give her this," Rachel told the bird. The raven nodded and flew into the air, leaving a gray shining light trail behind it. Rachel slowly turned around and saw the three men approaching and they stopped right in front of her. The tallest one in the middle threw his blood-red hood off his head to reveal a pale face with fierce, and intense dark red eyes.
" Where is the girl?" the tallest one said fiercely.
Rachel stared him down with her light gray eyes. " You will never find her," Rachel said bravely.
The man growled. He pulled out a gleaming silver sword from his cloak. Rachel knew that was her cue to get out of there. Just as the man was about to strike her, Rachel made a upward movement with her hand and trees rose up from the ground and spread out to the left and right as far as the eye could see. Rachel saw the man from a crack in one of the trees. Rage flared in his eyes.
" You have one more chance to tell us where she is," the man said impatiently.
Rachel smiled.
" Thanks for the offer...... but I think Ill pass".
Rachel ran deep in the woods just as the man yelled, " We will find you!".
Rachel stopped in her tracks and turned.
" I know you will...... but I always find a way,".
That's all she said before she dashed in the woods, happy to be rid of them...... for now.
