Patrick settled into the seat below him, rubbing at his eyes. He was more tired than ever, for multiple reasons. The train lurched, his eyes shot open, as he groaned close to silently. He looked over, seeing a dark haired man trying to run along the train tracks. Poor fool. He would have to take the next stop. He sighed, setting his legs up in the chair next to him.
The train ride from LA to the middle of nowhere, Maine, was not one he was looking forward to. He had a wedding to attend, his sisters, actually. Now, you may ask, why the hell was he taking a train of all things across the damn country instead of a plane? Well, his sister was a bit- okay not a bit, a large ass bridezilla. She refused to let her "beautiful and fucking expensive" wedding dress be flown, lest it be wrinkled. And of course- she had lent it to Patrick. Her trustworthy brother, the only person she would trust with it. She had expected him to drive across the country, but he said fuck it and got a train ticket. However "trustworthy" he was, he still wasn't willing to use 2 months worth of rent on gas money, just because she didn't want a few wrinkles in a dress.
Still, he kept it in the cleaners bag, in his lap as he stared out of the window, watching the city roll by. He sighed as he settled in, looking around when the train stopped. His heart started racing. Did something go wrong? Was something broken? WAS IT GOING TO EXPLODE? CATCH FIRE?
His thoughts slowed to a stop as he saw the man who was running a few minutes ago climb onto the train. He scoffed, poor dude. Leaning back in his chair, He closed his eyes. The more he was asleep, the faster this ride would go. A long way. Alone.
