God, what a exausting day. During your shift, you had to deal with some rude and horrific customers, you got hot coffee spilled a over your uniform (which resulted you wearing an old waitress uniform that smelled like eggs), most of all, you couldn't get a moment's peace just for one second. It was almost as if someone lifted a huge boulder off of your shoulders when all of the customers left at the end of the shift day. It was like the second best thing in the day. You were cleaning off tables with a damp rag, not really paying attention to your surroundings. You should've, because Jack was actually watching you...from behind. You didn't exactly realize he was checking you out, but you knew he was there. You were about to head onto the next table, but the rag accidentally slipped out of your fingers and under the table, making you groan in fustration and bend down to grab it. That resulted into Jack looking wide eyed and his ears shooting straight up, stiff as a board,

"Damn" you heard him mumble, which made you click to what he was doing. You shot up, but your head hit under the table, making you yelp and rub your head in pain,

"Ow, mother fff..." You hissed in pain. Jack jumped and quickly rushed to your side, helping you from under the table,

"Oh my god, are you okay? What happened?" He asked, concerned. You looked up at him with a growl in your tone,

"You is what happened. It looked like you liked what you saw" you grumbled as you gently pushed him off and got on your feet, rubbing your head where it hurt. Jack's ears instantly flattened as his face flushed in pure red. He looked to the side and rubbed his neck,

"O...oh..you saw that? Uhm.." He was soon in deep thought, trying to think of an excuse, but you stopped him just in time,

"No need for your excuses, I've got to pick up my brother" You said as you handed him the wet rag. You were about to walk out the doors, but Jack soon stopped you by running in front of you, making you jump,

"Actually, u-uhm, I've got some business to attend to tomorrow and I won't be here tomorrow for the first few hours of the shift. You think you could hold up my place while I'm gone?" He explained with an awkward smile. You rolled your eyes. Every Wednesday, Jack would for some dumb reason disappear for half of the day before reluctantly showing up again. The weirdest thing about it is that your boss doesn't mind him leaving. But, you weren't complaining either, you needed a break from his talking sooner or later. You nodded,

"Alright, floppy ears. But you better give me something in return" you said, ending your sentence with a venomous hiss. He noticed the fustration in your tone, so he quickly moved out of the way to your freedom,

"You're the best, (Y/N). I'll be sure to find something" He said with a grateful smile. You just couldn't help but smile back; it was a small smile, but still a smile,

"Alright, I'm outta here. Cya tomorrow" You said as you both waved a goodbye while you walked out. As you got in your car, you didn't notice Jack, who was in the restaurant, staring at you in deep thought.
