Gray, still smirking, brings his hands forward in a quick motion; immediately building up magic within his palms.

"Ice Dragon Secret Art: Supreme Ice Blizzard!"

A huge mass of ice forms and coils together, forming one entire entity (with the appearance of a beam). Gray aims it at the Crash Mage, who still appears to be in shock, with an unknown confidence, he wasn't even aware he had. It was as if; Gray had done it thousands of times before.

But why is that?

He distinctly remembered his childhood; he had been born in a small town and lived there until the Deliora attack that changed his life forever. He was the son of Mika and Silver Fullbuster, an ice mage who was taught by his master Ur. He told and repeated the cycle monotonously within his mind over and over again.

But something felt wrong.

Deciding to focus all his attention on the battle in front of him, he squinted into the blizzard that had consumed his enemy. Gradually expanding in a ferocity out of harsh winds and fragments of knife-like ice. Gray expected to find a figure, upon the floor as the casualty of his attack. But simply found nothing. For that moment, Gray's confidence and contentment washed away. He again felt like that young child. The young child who could never achieve what he wanted. But he hid that away into the dark depths of his heart, and put on the frozen facade.

As he always does. Turning round to see his guild members staring at him.

"...I don't really-"

"That was amazing Gray! How on earth did you do it?" Lucy questions, shock evident upon her features. Gray's eyes widen, not expecting that reaction before shrugging.

"I don't really know myself. I think it was just a fluke."

"Wait, where have they gone?"

"They used the blizzard as cover to retreat" Levy sighed, glancing at Gajeel who seemed to be frustrated at the lack of violent battles he managed to engage in.

"And I fancied beating a few people to a bloody pulp."

Natsu just continued to stare at Gray for a moment, before he ran up and hugged him shocking all of the guild members.

"I don't know how you turned it around there. But you scared me. Don't think of dying on me, ice princess."

Gray stood there, in utter shock for a few moments before slowly wrapping his arms around the fire dragon slayer. Something within him, seemed over joyed at this reaction. Purring inside of him. As if something inside of him was alive. Gray furrowed his eyebrows, choosing not to question Natsu on the matter in this moment of time.

"As long as you don't die on me either, pyro."

Gray groaned. Flopping down dramatically onto his bedsheets and staring at the ceiling. All of this was so confusing, and it felt as if he wasn't going anywhere.

He's now also got this inner-dragon to deal with. It was all so new to him and he was sure he heard it purring earlier when he hugged Natsu.

Gray slowly closed his eyes, attempting to call out beyond the world beneath his eyelids. Fibres forming and entwining as if they were spider webs.

'Glacies.'

And amazingly, the dragon began to emerge before him. Her classical, what Gray interpreted as a smirk, upon her face as she stared down at him.

"I'm presuming you have some questions? But don't expect me to come every time you ask. You need to connect with your inner-dragon completely. And I'm only a fragment of them."

"A fragment?" Gray questions, narrowing his eyes at the dragon in front of him.

"How can you just be a fragment? Aren't you my inner-dragon?"

"Theoretically, yes, but your inner-dragon is formed in conjunction with your soul. It connects with your soul, and hence, is crafted in a unison between the two. I am merely your dragon element, however, your soul must also be used to form a sort of merge between the two."

Gray stared at her, slowly processing the information given to him before responding.

"Okay, so how can I get my soul to 'cooperate'?" Gray questions, his tone laced in confusion as he stared into Glacies eyes. Well, as best as he could do considering he was trying to stare into the eyes of a dragon.

"Well, that comes with acceptance my child."

"Acceptance?"

"That's for you to figure out."

Gray sighed, running his hand through his hair frustratedly which he realised, had become quite the habit.

"Alright, just one more question."

"You really are full of them aren't you?" Glacies commented, an amused tone lacing his voice.

"I guess so. Why did... My 'inner-dragon' purr earlier?"

"Oh. That is interesting."

"What?" Gray questioned, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.

"You see, your inner-dragon purrs when it's content. So, what was the circumstance?"

Gray coughed, before responding carefully.

"When someone erm...Hugged me."

"Well. That one's simple. Whoever 'hugged' you is your mate."
