real life !

"I can't continue doing this, Chuck." Katherine muttered to her boyfriend after the two of them are finally safe in the small confines of his car. It took a lot of thinking for Katherine to realize what she wanted and she finally knew. And she made her decision right there and then.

"You can't keep doing what, love?" He smiled at her, resting his large ringed hand on her thigh. That wasn't exactly how she wanted to start this but couldn't bring herself to say it there in the car so she just replied with a "whatever", biting at her lip.

"Chuck..." She said later that evening after they were home. Chuck had been relaxing, doing a bit of homework on his computer while he sat on the couch. She'd been beside him, flipping through the channels on TV and scrolling through instagram and twitter on her phone. She kept looking at pictures of the two of them on her profile and that's when the feelings came back, the dread of having to be away from him.

"Yes, love?" Chuck questioned, his eyes not moving from the email he was looking at. He glanced over at her and the second he saw her anxious face, her lip stuck between her teeth, he closed his laptop and moved to rest it on the table in front of him. He turned his body towards hers, a deep frown forming between his brows. "What's wrong?" She sighed, knowing now that she had to say it. She had to come out with it and be honest with him about how she'd been feeling.

"I can't continue doing this." She repeated what she had said in the car an hour before but maybe this time he would realize she didn't mean her "whatever". She saw his frown increase, his brown eyes clouded over with concern.

"Doing what, sweetheart?" She heard his breath come out in shallow gasps as he seemed to catch on to what she was about to say. She hated this, she loved Chuck, she did but... this wasn't the way she wanted to live her life anymore. This was too much for her and she just couldn't do it any longer.

"I thought I'd be happier with you but I'm just not. I realised that this isn't what i wanted. I keep thinking that maybe I'd be happier if I was with him. I tried to press myself to stay in this relationship but.. I'm... I just... I can't handle it anymore. I don't want to do it anymore." She saw the heartbreak riddle across his handsome features and she tried to keep the tears at bay but they didn't. She reached out for his hand, gripping his large fingers in her hand. He gripped back, not willing to let her go so easily.

"We can go somewhere. We can go on a trip and just... hide away for a bit and try to work this out. I know things have been a little crazy lately but-" He began, begging her not to go but she cut him off.

"I'm done, Chuck." She whispered. She leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss, the last kiss, to his lips. "I love you, I love you so much I just can't keep doing this anymore." She stood up. He was unwilling to release her hands but she tug them free. He looked down at her, his brown eyes sparkling with tears. He looked like a lost puppy who had just gotten scolded or like a lost boy, scared and afraid of the future.

"I understand." He whispered as a tear fell down his cheek and she nodded with her head. She gave a smile and headed out of the room. He stood up and quickly followed her to the front door. "But what about... us? What about our future together? You can't give up on us. We had plans." She nodded as she slip into your shoes. She looked up at his tear stained face and reached out with her hand to wipe at the tears. He gripped at her hand again, holding it against his cheek.
