Arcana High School AU Main Book

First Day 1.1

First day at a new school, the most elite school in Vesuvia none-the-less, deep breaths. Deep breaths (y/n) you'll be fine. It's good you left your old school anyway, everyone there was fake or really toxic. I just hope it isn't the same here. We only moved here for the school so if it's not a good one I'm gonna have a fit. Coming in the middle of the year isn't the most ideal time to move schools but it's fine, I'll deal... maybe.

I finally stepped out of my car and into the parking lot. i must have looked so crazy, just sitting in my car, staring off into nothing, good job (y/n)! You're just nailing your first day aren't you? Whatever, I grabbed my stuff and headed to what looked like the main building. Everyone I passed by watched me and then turned to the people next to them to talk about the new girl.

I finally entered the building and to your right was the office, thank the lord. I was so happy that it was easy to find, I wouldn't have to ask where it was! I burst into the office, only to have a women, who was sitting in her chair, look over at me like a crazy person. She was noticeably short, even though she was sitting, and she had piles of food surrounding her. She had a plaque on her desk that read 'Secretary Volta'. She was obviously drooling, ready to stuff her face with the 4 meal course she had set up, but I quickly cleared my throat before she got to it. Her head snapped up and her eyes focused on me.

"Oh, hi deary! What can I do for you?" Secretary Volta asked.

"I'm new here, and I was told to come to the office and get my schedule?" I asked shy, not trying to be snippy or rude.

"Oh, yes! (y/n)! We normally don't get too many people in the middle of the year. I'll go get your papers." Secretary Volta said as she walked out of view and to a back part of the office, that looked off limits to normal students. As I was waiting I decided to sit down because yesterday I had decided to go our for a run at 3 am. I was so nervous I couldn't sleep. So i decided to go for a run and get to know the neighborhood better.

Secretary Volta returned, interrupting my thoughts. She smiled and offered me the papers. I gently took then and nodded my head. I walked out of the office and looked around for the first time. There were seats, so I plopped down on one of the very comfortable looking ones and read my schedule while people walked by. The schedule read this:

Lunch- 11:59 - 12:29

7- Art- 2:05 - 2:47

8- Choir- 2:51 - 3:33

9- Homeroom- 3:37 - 4:20

I wasn't exactly happy happy with having math first but what can you do? I got out of my seat and thanked Secretary Volta. I walked out of the office an was swept into the crowd of students. I found my locker and I got stares from everyone, the boy at the locker next to me was putting stuff away in his locker and looked up, because he heard all of the noise probably. He saw me and smiled, his blonde hair was slicked back and you could tell he was very athletic. His friends were talking around his locker, not paying attention to him. He gave me the "look" the one where you look them up and look away look back at them and then smile. My face heated up.

"Hi, I'm (y/n), I'm new, do you know where math is?" I whispered, while putting my stuff in my locker.

"Well, hi, I'm Lucio, the best high school Quarter Back in the country, I have it next, you can come along." He flashed a charming smile. I almost started drooling right on the spot.

"What do I need to bring?" I asked curiously.

"Most likely a binder and the mathematics textbook." He said simply. I looked through my bag and took it out, they had supplied my textbooks and materials to me a couple days ago.

"Ok, thanks." I plainly stated. I grabbed my books closed my locker and started walking with him. The whole way there he talked about how amazing he was and how good at football he was. He threw in a couple of pickup lines that made me laugh.

When we got there he walked in with me and sat with his friends. I looked around, Lucio waved me to sit with him. I walked over and sat next to him. He smiled and introduced me to his friends, they all looked they were mentally undressing me. I was a little uncomfortable but they were nice so I just kept talking with them. There was another girl on the side of me who had red hair.

"Hi, I'm (y/n), what's your name?" I asked.

"Portia, nice to meet you!" She said. She turned back to what looked like her homework.

The bell rang and the teacher entered the room from the hallway and immediately started teaching and throwing facts at us. I kept up with him in my notes. He actually talked slower than my teachers in my other school. His name was Mr. Smith a pretty basic last name. All the other kids in the class looked like they were about to pass out because they were trying to write as fast as he was talking. I noticed that during the class everyone kept staring at me in astonishment and also in curiosity. In astonishment probably because I was keeping up with the teacher effortlessly and in curiosity because, of course, they had noticed I was a new kid. The person who stared at me the most, though, was Lucio. The bell finally rang and everyone sighed in relief and shook out their hands. The teacher had assigned us 40 problems for homework. that seemed fairly easy.

I stretched and collected my things and got up. Lucio walked with me back to my locker and asked me what my next class was. I took out the crumpled paper and said, "World History," I said happily. He laughed at me. People always said my smile was contagious maybe he was just happy cause I was?

"Your smile is cute on you," Lucio said, I could feel another pickup line coming on, "But it would look better on my lips." He said and with that he walked away.
