I make my way toward a black suburban parked curbside. The cool outside breeze makes its way through my layers of clothing causing me to draw a quick breath. Walking faster I unlock the car and get inside, closing the door quickly behind. I insert the key into the ignition. Away I go, homebound. Driving through the city It's always about the same identifying markers. The amount of people, the building landmarks and also its natural elements. There aren't a lot of people walking the streets, however the amount of cars on the road I would imagine it makes this place hard to live in. The buildings you see, seem almost like they've been forgotten for years. Every shop has gone and left a space for another to ooccupy. I focus more on the journey I'm on, the same old ride through the city. My eyes catch my destination after 10 long minutes of driving and I turn for the gutter and apply the breaks all in one swift motion. I unbuckle my seatbelt and exit the vehicle as per usual, not forgetting to lock it. Before me is the walkway towards the place I call home. A modern ground level house with a family feel. Walking down the drive I am reminded of how late I am to be coming home. I stop at the door before I unlock and slowly open the front door.

I walk inside, closing the front door behind myself. I go to place my keys in the awaiting bowl, but decided that was a stupid idea as I come to terms with my surrounds. Immediately I notice the quiet envelope me. Looking for the cause of such quiet, I make my way through the house but not before pulling out my sidearm. The first door I come to I stick to the wall as I open the door to look inside. I was expecting a sleeping individual but ran short with an empty bed. Looking further, a black cat is seen to be stretching before me. I move to pet its head softly. I then go to leave, closing the door behind, however the cat decides to slide through the small enclosing gap. I notice and pick the cat up. Suddenly her ears catch a sound. I put her down and follow her, my eyes watching her every movement. She walks around for a little bit before cornering a lounge chair and jumping up on its arm. I circle my way around the chair to see a visual on the cat but am met with two sleeping individuals. I go to leave to give them peace but the cat makes herself known my jumping on the females lap. There I am met with two gleaming ocean blue eyes.

"Choley" I stated in an abrupt tone. I immediately sat down on the coffee table in front of Choley. "Sorry, the cat woke you I..." She cuts me off. "Fallon, its fine we were just waiting for you and fell asleep." She slowly gets up off the couch and heads straight for the kitchen. "Again I'm sorry, I stayed back at work to go over some cases." I stare at choleys back as she opens the cupboards, removing two jars. "Its fine, look at your phone." I pull out my phone as Choley pours into the jars. I hit the power button and the screen lights up to show messages from Choley. I go to speak however she cuts me off again. "Nine messages, two missed calls and no reply." I give her a sympathetic look, unable to gather words. "Fallon its fine, here..drink." I accept her advance and grab the jar, taking a swig. "Thanks." I hear a noise from behind me and I turn to see John walking toward Choley and I. She notices and grabs another jar from the cupboard and pours him a drink. "Where have you been?" John speaks. "As I said, I was going over cases". I stare at him for a moment before taking another sip from my glass.  "alright, let me know which ones tomorrow and I will see if I can help." He walks over to Choley and wraps his arm around her waist. I can't help but express slight jealousy to his action, however no one notices. John skulls his drink, kisses Choley on the cheek and begins to head east toward his bedroom "night." He waves his left hand in the air. "John.." I pause for a moment. " wait for me." I state as I skull the rest of my drink. "Night boys." Choley states slowly sipping from her jar. I stare into her eyes for the quickest moment before walking in the direction of john. He and I walk down the hallway to our rooms. "Night partner." I stated before we each open our doors and escape into our bedroom confines. I close the door and walk over to my king size bed. Longing for a soft good nights sleep, I remove my shoes and layers of clothing leaving my underpants. I then slip in under the sheets and lay staring up at the ceiling awaiting darkness to envelop me.
