The day was just like any other. The sky was a dark, gloomy grey with the clouds threatening rain at every hour. The streets littered with trash and different liquids no one would dare to try and find out. And the apes known as the citizens of this town walking aimlessly into what they do everyday.

I had barely woken up and I was already tired of this. I had lived in this place before, but it had been so long,I almost forgot how disgusting it was. Granted, most 5 year olds don't notice it when a wrapper flies in the wind, but still. It was revolting how gross this town was. But its Home Sweet home...
I guess

My alarm went off before I could finish my thoughts. I tend to think in my sleep,so this didn't really surprise me. I shut off the alarm and sat up in my bed. 5 am. Time to get ready for Skool.

I hopped out of bed and walked over to my closet, rummaging through the mess of clothes that was there despite just moving in. I tended to be very messy, which is a trait I got after I left. To be honest,it wasn't my fault. It was his.

I settled for a NASA shirt with a [F/C] hoodie and jeans, alone with checkered vans. I went over to my vanity and grabbed my brush, and proceeded to try and tame this beast on my head. Once I got my hair to decent,I grabbed my school bag and went downstairs.

The house was dark and quiet,me being the only living organism in the building. On the fridge was a note, written in the nice and smooth handwriting of my mother.

'[Y/N],my new job requires early mornings and late nights,so I won't be home when you leave or when you come back. Sorry kiddo! Dinner is in thr fridge when you get home. Please don't be mad >·<
-Mom'

I sighed and continued ny way to the door. Mom was still very childish and always worked late. Most of the time she got home after I did,but she never had to be gone late into the night. I can't hold her accountable though. Being a single mom is hard, especially when you had to deal with an asshole draining you the whole time, along with a screaming kid. That's why I mostly took care of myself, that way she could relax and not have to worry like back then.

As I walked to school,I noticed a house that felt out of place. And when I say out of place,I mean way out of place. It was an almost neon green, and gave off what felt like radiation,be it poison or not. Its roof was a dusty purple and it had multiple creepy little garden gnomes beside the walkway. It also had a sign that read 'I <3 Earth!' In big bold letters.
Not wanting to meet the person who owned this house,I kept on walking.

After a bit of walking,I made it to school. Or well,Skool. They used the same building for every grade, and everyone stayed in the same class throughout their school life. It was a stupid condition, but due to lack of funds or caring, the kids are stuck with it. I guess the upside is that you understand the teacher? As if.

Kids were piling in through the doors and some even went in through the window. They still didn't fix that? You'd think that they'd fix it,but I guess not. I joined in the pile of kids walking in and headed to the office to get my schedule. After reading for a few minutes,I noticed something. Ms.Bitters still worked here? She had to be as ancient as the dinosaurs at this point!

Dispite my initial shock,I started to walk to my classroom.
I better not be late on the first day. After all,Mrs,Bitters is very strict with that. She may only teach about doom, but she might still be an exceptional teacher.

I walked into the drab classroom and locked eyes with two people immediately. A kid who looked fairly familiar, just taller and bigger. And then another, who was strangely short for a Junior. His hair looked fake and greasy, like a wig. His eyes were strangely plastic like.

"Class, this is [Y\N]. If you have anything to say,say it now,or else I don't wanna hear another peep out of you!" Ah yes, that scratchy, sarcastic voice hasn't changed in ten years.

I just shook my head and waited to be seated. "Very well, you will sit..... There!" She pointed to a seat in the front. "I never liked you anyway? To the underground classroom!" The kids seat opened and the kid plummeted into the ground.

They still did that?

I sat down in my seat and tried to focus on Mrs.Bitters, who started the class back up. All she talked about was doom, which was honestly the same as Kindergarten.

This'll be an interesting year.
