Chapter 1

Chloe's P.O.V

Me and Paige were chatting in the den waiting for Abby to call us in. We were really early and we were the only ones there. Next thing Maddie and Kendall walked in.

"So girls well done last week" Kendall said.

"Thanks" we said.

"But the only medal you two will ever get close to is the metal in your mouth, get ready for the bottom of the pyramid" Maddie said.

Its true. We both have braces and Maddie and Kendall got braces when they were younger so their teeth are really straight and pearly white. I could see tears brimming in Paige's eyes. She was really self conscious about her braces. Even though she was the prettiest girl on the team, she was always worried about how her braces looked.

When everyone was in the den Abby called us in.

"Now, well done last week, Maddie well done on your solo. And Chloe your solo was great. The group one and the duet, Nia, Kendall great work, now let's get on with the pyramid".

She pulled of the first picture. "Brooke, point the feet, straighten your knees and use your face, next it's Paige, nothing much to judge you on. You did the group. You did it good. Next is Mackenzie, same as Paige".

Then Nia and Kendall.

" Next is, I'm so sorry to say, Maddie, you fell out of your turn and still came first. And at the top of the pyramid is Chloe, you were great in the group dance and your solo. You got a special technical award. You came second in you solo and I am not happy about that but this is one of the ALDCs Technical Awards".

"Now, the group is Brave and its contemporary. I have two solos. Maddie, it is called Somewhere Only We Know and its lyrical.

My second solo is going to, Paige. Its based on the song, The Hanging Tree, from the Hunger Games. It is very beautiful piece and very difficult, but I know that somewhere deep down, you have the ability to pull it off.

I have three duets. Brooke and Mackenzie you have and acro duet called When I was younger. It's about a girl who dreams about her younger self. I chose the oldest and youngest and the two most flexible girls on the team to bring it together.

Nia and Kendall, we're going to try the duet again. So exactly the same. And one more duet Chloe and"

Miss Abby said. Every one looked around confused. I was thinking and hoping for it to be Paige. Miss Abby left the room.

She walked back in with Josh. Paige's big brother. I have had a huge crush on Josh since 3rd grade. You can stand there in between Chloe and Paige their Josh.

"Now, Chloe, look to your left" Miss Abby said.

J looked up to my left and looked at Josh. He smiled I got butterflies and turned to the front.

"There's your duet partner, Chloe" She said.

"The duet is called True Blue by Madonna and its Musical Theatre", she said.

"OK moms you can leave and talk crap about me and we will start warming up".
