Time seems to drag on and get worse the more into the week Adelaide gets; after her finding out about Victoria Edward has been a constant hoverer, despite Adie's declaration of not being scared and that she can take care of herself. The only time he isn't by her side is when he is sure no attack from Victoria will come and when he goes hunting with his brothers, yet she still winds up with a vampire by her side. Granted, Alice is a lot bubblier and Adelaide feels like she is just hanging out with a good friend, not being guarded.

And then there is the pack situation. Sam is still holding firm to her being a traitor and not welcomed at the packhouse, but her brothers are trying to get her to come regardless. She has had to shut down Jared multiple times and Embry at least 5 times. The younger Quillette seems quite smitten with the huntress despite her being in love with a 'leech' as the pack likes to refer to the Cullens. Then again Embry has always been open-minded and free of prejudice; it's one of the things she loves about him.

Adelaide is hanging out with Jess at the local park just sitting on the swings and chatting. Apparently, Mike plans to go to Seattle after graduation and Jessica doesn't want him to because of all the missing people cases. This leads to a huge fight and now Mike won't even talk to her, childish if you ask Adelaide. Adie offers to kick some sense into his dumbass self with help from Tony and, although Jessica appreciates her friend's protective fiery self, she declines causing Adie to shrug. Jessica opens her mouth to switch the topic to Adelaide's complicated relationship troubles but snaps it shut when she sees the six-foot russett skin god walking over to her best friend.

"Jess," Adelaide smiles amused. "You okay?" the brunette's only response is to nod to the attractive male she knows Adelaide considers as a brother. Adelaide looks behind her and sighs as she sees Jake. "This might take a while," she purses her lips apologetically at Jessica.

Jess waves an absentminded hand. "Nah, it's alright girl. I'll just go bug Ang instead."

The two girls laugh and hug before Jess grabs her bag off the ground and saunters off to the car. Jacob watches as the brunette leaves his sister and is relieved that he has privacy to talk to Adelaide. The conversation he wanted with her isn't suitable for normal human ears; Jake takes Jess' previous seat and kicks off the ground to sway slightly in the swing. He grins at Adelaide who can't help but grin back at him, nose scrunching up with pure happiness.

"Looks like the roles are finally reversed," muses Adie teasingly. "What are you doing on the pale faces' land, huh Quileute?"

"Funny," he says with a scoff and grin.

"I've missed you, Jake." sincerely states Adelaide.

"You should come over to Sam and Emily's soon." tries Jake tentatively. "It's not the same without you."

Adelaide sighs and looks at the ground, kicking dirt with the tip of her tennis shoes. "I can't, Jake, you know that. I've already told Jared and Embry the same thing," Adie pulls the sleeves of her sweater over her fingers. "Sam is still really pissed."

Jacob shakes his head, letting out a long sigh as he closes his eyes. "I know. Doesn't matter, right? I guess we'll survive. Who needs the one sister we have?" He grimaces, trying to cover the pain with a thin attempt at bravado.

"Jacob," she breathes out, biting her lip.

"So what's the story, anyway?" Jacob asks her, wanting to know exactly what happened when she left for Volterra. Why she isn't able at the pack anymore. "I mean, is... everything just back to the way it was before he left? You forgave him for all of that?" he takes a deep breath, "For losing the pack?"

Adelaide winces, "There is nothing to forgive, Jake. And he didn't make Sam react the way he did either."

Jacob's face screws up as if he tastes something gross in the air. "I wish Davis had taken a picture when he found you that night. It would be exhibit A. Or how Jared basically had to nurse you back to life, exhibit B."
