Adelaide chews on her lip nervously as she paces the length of her room. After her day with Jared on Wednesday, she can't help but think about the pack. Bella's words ring through her head and Adie stops her movement, eyes narrowed in determination.
The brunette strips out of her 2 sizes too big grey tee and plaid shorts that she wears to sleep and puts on some whitewash skinny jeans and a nude sweater with Aztec print. She hazardously throws her hair into a ponytail and grabs her keys off her desk, stomping downstairs where her dutifull converse lay. However, she's stopped short by Davis who, for once, isn't at the station.
"DAD! Wh-what are you doing here?" Adelaide glances around her surroundings nervously.
"I got a call from your school," Adie winces. Her father has always been strict about school attendance. "If it was that Cullen boy-" Looks like Edward still has to work his way back into Davis' good graces.
Adelaide sighs. "Dad, I thought we were over the 'Hating on Edward' phase? Besides, it wasn't even him, it was Jared."
Davis' strict look falls away to a smile. "Oh, he's a good kid. Why don't you go over there anymore?"
Adie gives her father a look. "You and I both know why: Sam."
"Another thing that Cullen boy took from you."
"Dad, enough! Edward already feels bad enough about what he did without having to hear your thoughts! No wonder he's still doom and gloom, I bet you project your thoughts when he's over, don't you?!" The guilty expression that falls on his face is proof enough. "For fuck's sake." Adelaide rolls her shoulders back and stares her father in the eyes steadily. "I'm going to the packhouse to call out Sam's bullshit. I'll be missing school, no, you can't stop me." Adelaide brushes past him, slipping on flats because they are faster and leaving out the door.
Davis smiles fondly from his place by the hallway closet. "That's my girl."

The whole way to Sam and Emily's, Adelaide goes through her speech in her head and she mentally highlights the most important points. Her knuckles grip the wheel tighter the closer she gets to her destination and she takes deep breaths, trying to relax. She reminds herself she isn't just doing this for her. She's doing this for her brothers, for Jared and Embry and Jacob, for Seth, who is having a rough time being the youngest, and for Leah the only girl in the pack. She's doing this for her family.
She stops her car next to Paul's beat-up pick-up truck and, due to her nerves, roughly puts her car in park. She takes one more deep breath before taking her keys out of the ignition and stepping out of the car. The silence that falls on the normally rowdy house alerts Adelaide that they know she's here. The huntress shrugs her shoulders back and begins walking to the porch, however, she's intercepted by the Alpha himself. Adelaide glares at Sam as the rest of the wolves file in behind him. She sees Seth's face light up as he sees her and Embry tries to keep his face neutral but a smile tugs at his lips.
"What are you doing here?"
"Calling you out on your bullshit!" Everyone's eyebrows raise at her bluntness and clear disrespect to the Alpha. "We both know that if Emily was in Edward's situation you wouldn't have thought twice! Hell, you'd probably even put the pack in danger for her!" a growl resonates through Sam and he opens his mouth. "No! I'm not finished!" She walks up the steps until she is chest to chest or well face to chest with the shifter. "You know damn well Edward is the equivalent to an imprint! Who the fuck cares what species they are! I'm so sick of you and your prejudice, you're only hurting everyone else! I can't even see my brothers because of you! Quil doesn't even know me!" she gestures to the newest boy who pales when he's brought into the argument. "This isn't fair to anyone, Sam! Just because your little wolf ass got sad doesn't mean you get to hurt the rest of us!" her chest is heaving by the time she finishes her rant and most of her anger from this whole situation has dissipated. "I deserve to be with my family, and I'll be damned if you think you can stand in the way."
