Chapter 2: The calm after the storm

Alex was peering behind a wall, watching the while scene. She parted from her hiding place walking to towards her sister.
"What's got you all glowly" Alex pretended to not know.
"Nothing" Kara replied.
"Surely, you can't be so happy that Mon el is leaving".

"He isn't leaving"
Kara broke she couldn't hold herself from telling her sister. Kara began to Alex everything.

Alex could barely remember seeing Kara this happy, her face lit up. "I know, I know, I was comming over to talk to you guys when I saw you two in mid air, lips pressed together." "So I hid over there" Alex pointed. "I didn't want to spoil the moment" Alex giggled.

"shutup" Kara shouted. Hitting in her in the shoulder playfully making sure not to actually hurt her. Kara smiled.

"I'm glad you are happy. Mon el had really changed and I could tell the way he looked at you the last few months that he cared  a lot about you".

"Yeah he does"Kara paused dreamily."Okay I need to go talk to J'onn see if he is okay since his father well... I don't think I need to explain". Kara said

"No, no you don't, you go on I'll see you tomorrow ." Alex mentioned before departing from Kara with a goodbye hug.

5 minutes later

J'onn is sitting on a chair,alone, in the conference room, tapping his fingers on the desk with a concerned look on his face.

"Hey J'onn... Sorry I hope I'm not disturbing you" kara said in a calm yet worried voice.

J'onn's face shot up at Kara as he wiped his cheek. "Hi Kara... no I'm alright, just thinking about stuff" J'onn said in a raspy voice as if he had been crying.

"Stuff, you mean your father" Kara suggested as she moved closer and took a seat on one of the office chairs.
"I'm so sorry about your father J'onn, but he did an honourable thing and really it was him who saved this planet, not me". " when I was hurting over losing Mon el, you were there for me, you always have been a father to me and looked after me and Alex and that's just as honourable as your father, belive it or not you two are very alike and I'm glad he got to witness the honarouble man you are". "I'm so sorry he is gone but you have me and Alex to help you get through this, if you ever want to talk I'm here for you just like you have been for me and my sister" Kara said in a sweet voice.

"Thank you Kara, and I am honoured to be a father like character to you and Alex. You two are the only family I've got left". Explained J'onn.

"El mayara" Kara whispered while placing her hand on gently on his back. Then Kara walked out to leave J'onn to think.

Hope you liked this chapter, it was bit short I know and bit cringey the story is gonna start getting more intresting next chapter which I will post tommrow and karamel fluff comming soon.
