Violetpaw

She sighed. "Drag your lazy self over here right now!" She heard Whiteout screech at her. She flattened her ears and hissed. "Don't use that with me. If you think you're so good, come fight me!" Whiteout bared her teeth. "I'm up for it!" She retorted.

I'm just trying to have a moment of quiet. Is it to much to ask for? She turned her attention back to Whiteout. Whiteout was snarling. Violetpaw slowly started Circling around Whiteout. Gracefully moving with light paw steps. Whiteout whipped around and dashed over her.

Too far! She jerked her head around to where Whiteout would've landed. She blinked in surprise when there was nothing there but the whistle of trees. She heard the steady beating of wings above her and looked up. Whiteout was glaring at her maliciously with her wings out.

She instinctively got onto her back and battered Whiteouts belly. Whiteout seemed unaffected. "Bird-brain! Stop!" She heard Owlpaw hiss at her. She blinked open her eyes.He looked Battered. "Oh! I'm sorry,Owlpaw," She glanced apologetically at him. He let out a tired grunt and flopped onto his belly.

She tossed and turned, but still got no sleep. "Can't sleep either?" She heard Bluepaw whisper to her. "Nope." She Whispered back.

She heaved herself to her paws and staggered out the den. Stormfall ran towards her. "Are you okay?" He boosted her with his shoulder.

"Fine. Just exhausted." She nudged him away. "Get some rest." She flushed red. She felt Puddlesplash's gaze boring into her pelt. Bluepaw was watching with envy from the apprentices den.

"I'm fine, I really am." She felt heat pulsing beaneath her pelt. "Whitefall, lead a Hunting patrol?" She heard Dawnwhisker. "Sure." Answered Whitefall. He nuzzled his mate, Duskwing, then went off to Dawnwhisker. "Take anyone else you like." Called Dawnwhisker.

Violetpaw ran up to Whitefall, who was also her kin. "Can I join the hunting patrol? There's nothing else for me to do." Whitefall nodded. "I'll go too!" Called Willowwhisker. "Snowcloud, do you want to come?" Her mother glanced in their direction and then nodded.

Violetpaw left camp with the three other warriors. "How's training?" Her mother came up beside her. "It's good. Leopardtail taught me the hunting crouch." She replied. Snowcloud nodded. "That's good, I don't know what we would've done if she didn't." Violetpaw twitched her whiskers in response.

"I don't think We've hunted near Darkclan's borders. It should be swarming with prey." Whitefall Called. "Good idea." Willowwhisker agreed.

On the way, Whitefall had caught two mice. "They were too old to run." He had said. "They were asking to be caught."

The Darkclan border was eerie and quiet. But Whitefall was right. Prey was plentiful.

There was a border patrol nearby, from Darkclan. Thornpaw, she had seen him at gatherings. An older warrior nodded at them. She recognized her as Clearshine. "They're invading!" She heard Thornpaw screech. "Shut up, Mouse-brain. They're not even over the border yet." An older warrior scolded him.

"It's not my fault, Sparkwing. They are too close!" Thornpaw complained. "Sparkwing is right." Clearshine looked flustered, though she was a fierce cat, she was also very noble. "I apologize for our apprentice's behaviour." Clearshine dipped her head.

Whitefall nodded. "No harm was done." She saw a squirrel across the border. "There, Clearshine!" She pointed towards the sprinting squirrel. The Darkclan patrol raced in pursuit towards the squirrel.

Willowwhisker purred. "Good distraction." They headed away from the border, carrying their catches. Whitefall was dragging his two mice she could see him straining to keep his head up. "Drag it, Whitefall. If it gets dirty I will eat it." Snowcloud rested her tail on his shoulder.

"I'm good. Prey should be respected." Whitefall was halfway through dipping his head, but he thought better of it when he saw his mouse dangling over a mud patch.

A pigeon fluttered onto a nearby tree trunk. It pecked the bottom, hoping to find some worms. She wagged her tail in excitement. She froze it when she heard the leaves behind her swishing. "Remember your training." She heard Snowcloud mutter.

She took a deep breath then crouched down low, not low enough for her belly fur to brush the ground. She bunched her hindquarters then let out a magnificent leap. She felt like she had winged paws as she glided through the air. She landed squarely on the pigeon. It squawked and flapped at her face, it's wings blinding her.

She pinned its wing with her paw, only then did it give up. She killed it with a swift, clean bite. "And presenting, Wingpaw!" She heard Willowwhisker joke. Whitefall went up to her. "Where did you learn that?" He asked. She shrugged. She grasped the plump pigeon tighter.

As they returned to camp, everyone was silent. Even Willowwhisker was silent, who was usually the first to start a conversation.

They finally reached the camp. She gently placed her pigeon on the prey pile. "Violetpaw." She heard Birchstar call to her. He beckoned her forward with his tail. He patted a spot next to him. "Sit here." She obediently sat next to him.

"Tell me, what did you see in the other realm?" He asked. "When I woke up, there was this huge gorge, and Reedpaw and Leopardpaw were on the other side." She recalled. "And Owlpaw was with me."

Birchstar nodded. "You can go now." She walked away. "Look at this Pigeon!" She heard Leafkit squeal. "Pigeon is my favourite now." Aspenkit dragged the pigeon over to the nursery.

She noticed Featherstep standing by the nursery, she looked large. She decided to walk over to Featherstep. "Yes, I'm expecting kits. Is it that obvious?" She said before Violetpaw could ask. "Oh, sorry." Violetpaw licked her chest fur in embarrassment.

Featherstep sighed. "It's okay, your young." Violetpaw trotted away, but couldn't help but wonder how much Feathersteps kits would look like their older littermates, Puddlesplash and Stormfall
