She'd been depressed as of late. Staying up all night and sleeping all day. She was happy with her marriage and partner, but she wasn't happy with herself. She felt isolated and useless as she waited for the day college would start. Her husband and his parents worried for her as they watched her slowly sink into herself.

They talked one day as she slept, and decided that if something wasn't done soon, they would all lose her. After much deliberation, the husband's father agreed she needed something to take her mind off of her self pity and despair. A dog.

When the girl found out they had granted her wish, she was overjoyed and delighted. She had been searching and begging for a dog for a while. She was scared Olive wouldn't attach to her like the girl needed her to, but she didn't have to worry for long. Olive loved her new mom like a fat kid loves cake.

After a while, the girl felt happier. She felt more fulfilled. Olive helped the girl fall into a new routine. She slept at night and was up most of the day. She smiled more, laughed more, and cried less. She was saved, by her husband and her new joy...
