Gabrielle POV
Breakfast.. I've picked up a few breakfast dishes along the way.. ah! Since this would be a buffet people aren't looking to eat very much and even if they do it will mean more plates for me so I'll make some special quesadillas with eggs and bacon. Both kids and adults like quesadillas and once they taste it they won't be able to stop. This was something I know for a fact, even when cold they don't taste bad though of course the best is when it's warm. I'll have to get the prep ready because tomorrow I'll be the one clearing the 500 plate challenge.
"Oh~ It's Bre!" I was snap out of my thoughts by that comment and look across from me to see a skipping Alice.
"Oh, hey Alice." I say when she steps in front of the stand in front of me with a smile.
"How have you been? We haven't seen you in a while." Alice says as Ryo stands behind her looking at me with his hands in his pockets.
"I've been good, how about you?" I ask tilting my head at her.
"I've been well, what are you doing for your challenge?" She asks.
"I'm making some special quesadillas.. well sorta I don't know how exactly to explain what I'm making." I say with a chuckle.
"Hm, oh well it was nice seeing you." Alice says before smirking.
"Wasn't it Ryo?" She asks making me blush and look down. I hate you for this Alice.
"Hm? Yeah." He says in his bored tone.
"Oh come on be a little more excited!" Alice yells at him hitting his arm.
"It's good to know you haven't changed." I say smiling a bit causing the two to look at me.
"You too." Alice says back making me blush a little more.
"Well I'll get to prepping now." I say as Alice nodded.
"We'll see you later." She says waving her hand as Ryo did somewhat of a salute with two fingers as a see yah and they both left.
~~
"Oh wow this is really good!" A woman says once she takes a bite which made me smile.
"Gabrielle Dojima you've served 200 plates." Was announced which made me smirk as more and more people kept coming placing plate after plate on the plate counter thing.
"These seasonings are so good."
"And the bacon is so crispy it's acting as a hard tortilla for the quesadilla!"
"And the cheese is so well melted on the inside while the outside it's perfectly golden."
I hear everyone continue to talk as I continue to place plate after plate just for them to take and eat. Soon two hours went by and the challenge was finished.
"Hey." I turn to the person just to see Ryo which made me blush.
"Uh.. h-hi!" Why?! My voice always gets so high when we're alone.
"Mind if I eat one?" He asked as I shake my head extending my hand calming myself down.
"Not at all." I say as he takes a plate and takes a bite and quickly another and another.
"This is really good." He says making me blush but smile.
"Thank you." I say as I saw Akira coming this was as well.
"Can I try it? It's been a while since I've tasted your cooking." He says as I nod handing him the last plate.
"I have to go meet Miss Alice, she wanted to witness Soma's cooking." Ryo says.
"Oh, I'll go with you. Some of my dorm mates are there as well." I say and looked at Akira who was looking at the Quesadillas.
"You've gotten better. I'm looking forward on seeing you again in Jun's place." He says as I smile at him and wave.
"Count on it." I say before walking beside Ryo who still had some of the quesadillas on his plate.. since each plate had 6 triangle cut pieces as if they were chips.
"You're not gonna eat them?" I ask.
"Alice asked to try some." He says as I nodded and looked down.
"Hey Ryo.." I mumble as he hums in answer.
"Do you like Alice.. like more than just someone you look up to or more than a friend?" I squeaked just before we walk into a room and he stops looking down at me before saying only one word.
"No." And walking inside the room with me following.
"Oh Ryo! Huh what's this?" She asks as I followed behind Ryo.
"This is Gabrielle's dish." He says as Alice looked at it taking one of the Quesadillas.
"Hey I want one!" Soma says reaching to take one and I noticed Erina looking as well making me smirk.
"Why don't you too take a bite Miss Erina." I say extending my hand as she scoffs.
"Wow this is really good Bre! How did you come up with something like this?" Alice asks.
"Hm, I was just bored one day and decided to make it for me and dad. It's an old dish I made when I was little with a few new tricks but the idea of it was from back then." I say.
"Fine, give it." Erina says making me raise a brow.
"Come and get it princess." I say mocking making her fume and stump towards me taking the last quesadilla from the plate and taking a bite. I smirk when a blush comes to her cheeks and her knees clash together.
"Well let's go get some rest, the next challenge will start soon." I say turning around and waving at them heading towards my room to get some more sleep because.. who doesn't like sleep in a comfy bed?
The rest of the day was other challenges until we were to meet in the same room we always meet. I heard complaints from everyone being so tired.
"What is this? I don't know what we're doing here but I don't like it." Megumi says making me chuckle.
"There's nothing written on the camp itinerary." Ryoko said.
"Huh, wait just a minute! This pattern is looking familiar! Don't tell me we have to stay up all night again." Yuki says.
"Very well, it seems you're all here." Dad starts as he steps forward.
"Just a few words before we get started, so far 352 students have failed leaving 628 remaining. Though it may seem cruel this is a taste of what is really like being a chef. You must keep your cool in unfamiliar situations always retaining a dialog with your ingredients. If you become a chef in the real world you'll face far greater pressures than this. There are nights where you'll have to face anxiety and indecision while dealing with various situations. Being a chef is like living in a waste land and having to face the-" He kept talking as I lean back in a seat, I remember this speech, this is nothing very new to me by now.
"Now then, let's begin the final segment of this training camps program." I look up at him just as doors open with staff saying welcome to us.
"The final act is to congratulate you on completing your training and offering you this humble meal. Please enjoy a full course dinner served up by our highly esteem graduates. You all of the 628 students who remain standing with us, you've cleared the challenges of this camp. Congrats! Enjoy your dinner everyone!" Dad says as all the students celebrated and headed inside where I was forced to seat next to Ryo my Alice who faster than lighting pulled me there before I even knew what was happening.
