                                          Don't Pull Back ~ a Saiouma story

           Shuichi strolled down the long hallway humming to himself, it was the weekend and he had no classes. Life was good.

            "Wait", he thought "What was that sound?" It sounded like heavy breathing and footsteps. He slowly turned around. A small purple gremlin was running down the hallway, fast as lightning. Before Shuichi had time to process it, Kokichi had crashed into him at full speed. they both fell to the ground, both faces flushed.

              Kokichi hopped up and started talking swiftly. Shuichi steadily got up, pulled his hat back on which had fallen to the ground and took a breath. "Kokichi, what are you talking about?" he said. Kokichi tilted his head "Do you not know?" he asked. Shuichi was very perplexed, "Know what?" he responded. Kokichi sighed "I should have known, you only hang out with that piano freak..." "Hey, Kaede's not-"

             "Well anyway," Kokichi continued, "Amami-chan is having a party tonight! And I'm bringing you as my plus one!!"

             And with that, Kokichi skipped back down the hallway yelling over his shoulder "Room 11037, 8:00 pm, be there!"

            Shuichi stood in the hallway, alone once more. "Well," He said, turning around and heading back down to his room. "Guess I'm going to a party."

~Later~

              Shuichi stood at room 11037, music blared from behind the door. He took a deep breath. "Well, you're here now, no going back" he thought to himself.

~flashback~

                  "Are you sure you can't come with me?" Shuichi asked hopefully. He was pacing up and down the hallway outside Kaede's room. She stood in her doorframe trying not to laugh at Shuichi's nervousness at this whole party thing. "No, I told you, I have a date with Maki tonight." She replied, "Besides it would be nice for you to get out meet and some people!"

                    Shuichi groaned, "Ok, fine... I guess you're right..." He stopped pacing the hallway and stood in front of Kaede's door. She put her hand on his shoulder and looked in his eyes. "Look, Shu. I'm glad we are still friends after we broke up, but you need to find at least SOMEONE that could be a potential partner."

               Shuichi gazed down at the ground. He knew that Kaede was right, they had broken up almost 6 months ago and he had barely talked to anyone expect Kaito.... they were roommates after all. But besides that, he stayed in his dorm studying or he was hanging out with Kaede.

                "Ok," he said reluctantly "I'll try to get someone else number tonight" Kaede smiled brightly "Good," she replied, "And remember if you need any advice during the party, feel free to text or call me!" Shuichi smiled faintly back.

                  As he walked back to his dorm he wondered how tonight was going to go. He inhaled deeply, "Everything will be fine. I can do this......"
