(A/N:
Sorry Everyone I've had a bad case of Writer's Block. This year I will try to be more frequent Again. Here's a short chapter.)
Vee and Zay drove off.
"Dang, she had a fat ol' ass."
"No cap. You think that's Zay new girl?"
"Nah, I heard he go with .."
"I think they're going to go kill your mom boyfriend for real. Dang, his boys are going to be on your head, Kev. "
Monte, the kid with the fade, elbowed, Marcus.
"Bruh, shut up, sometimes. You talk too damn much."
"Hey, Kev, you good bro?"
The group of five paused to look back at their friend. Kevin had been leaned against the fence in silence ever since Vee had assured him that she and Zay would handle his mom's boyfriend. He balled his fist up and stuffed it in his pocket.
"Yeah, I'm good. I just need to hang back for a little while."
Monte looked unconvinced, but he decided not to pry. He gave his friend a sharp nod.
"Aight, man. When you're ready. We're going across the street to Rudy's place to watch, Jojo. Come pull up on us when you get right."
Monte held out his hand. Kevin moved over to slap his palm.
"Aight man. I'ma be there in a minute." Kevin nodded to the rest of his friends before they all walked off.
Kevin glanced up at the setting sun. A few gray clouds were visible in the sky. It probably would rain later that evening.
No amount of rain in the world would wash away the dread resting on his heart.
Moments after his friends had gone into Rudy's house. A cold shadow hovered him. He knew that voice anywhere.
It was Bogman.
"They gone?"
A cloud of smoke brushed against Kevin's neck. He recoiled, but he did not turn around
"Yeah, they gone. I told them what you told me to say,"Kevin replied through gritted teeth. "Are you going to leave my mom alone now? I did what you asked."
Bogman roughly grabbed the teenager by his shoulder and whipped him around to face him .
"Look at me when I address you lil nigga."He ordered.
Kevin stumbled back but didn't fall. He stared back at Bogman with a hard expression and gradually tried to soften it. It was a difficult task hiding the disgust and hatred he felt for the man before him.
"I know what the fuck I said. I said I wouldn't kill that crackhead ass bitch if you didn't."
Bogman spat on the ground beside him. The glob was a sickening yellowed orb. Kevin recoiled inward from the sight and the sinister atmosphere despite the weather being nearly perfect.
"Y-yes sir. "
The man's sharp demeanor contrasted with his outer appearance. He was a wiry, bald man with a thinning mustache. He wore a pair of baggy khakis and a wrinkled, faded green t-shirt. His matching shoes were scuffed and muddied as if he held unto them for years. His signature pair of black sunglasses shielded the powerful brown eyes that made up for his sickly looking appearance.
"Good, now. You gonna do whatever the fuck I tell you. I got some loose ends I need to tie up on and these Grove Street bustas owe me some help."
