No one saw it coming
Flying down the track
Full of pain and shock
Ready to attack.
The day was fun-filled
A festival in full swing
We had no clue
That it was coming.
I was working with him
Selling raffle tickets
To the people from town
And those who came to visit.
And while we worked
For an hour and a half
As people walked by
We joked and we laughed.
But later that night
At a sleepover at Sam's
Not very much
Went according to plan
He bumped into someone
And fell to the ground
Down on the pavement
All his friends were around
An ambulance was summoned
He was taken away
To the nearest hospital,
Then farther away.
My classmate and friend
Had shattered his knee
And not just in one place-
It shattered in three.
We got the news
And promptly freaked out
Although for a moment
We almost had a doubt
If our source was reliable
(Turns out it was true)
But he understated the situation
By a million and two.
So we're all here hoping
That he'll be alright
And won't have to wait-
He had surgery last night.
Everyone's concerned
I'll keep you updated\
Hopefully I will
Not keep you waiting.

Hey guys,
My friend Andrew got sent to the hospital last night because he shattered his knee. When @SkipOnARainbow and I got the news, we were just goofing around and her mom came in and told her to call one of the guys who was at the sleepover. I could only hear her side of the conversation, and it was terrifying.
"Hey, is Andrew okay?" "Oh my God." "An ambulance?" "Was it his head or his knee?" "Oh my God, that's horrible." "Thanks, bye."
And we were like, "Tell us!!!!" But yeah. He'll be alright. My only concern is it's a long weekend, which doctors sometimes take off. But he's gonna be okay. Part of the shock was that I had been hanging out with him earlier that afternoon.
Love ya,
G
