Chapter five
I have been more grateful when the final bell rang.
I jumped out of my seat and ran to my car where Seth was waiting for me.
He had a guilty expression and had kicking the floor.
“What’s wrong?” I asked him.
“I- I forgot... I shouldn’t have done those things to you... I forgot how close to Dad you were and I forgot today was...”
I blinked my eyes fast but couldn’t control the tear that slipped.
“Seth... it’s ok, you were young when he left you don’t remember.” I said my voice shaky.
“No its not I’ve been horrible and I should have known and not been a complete jackass.”
“Let’s just forget it.” I said and pulled him in for a hug.
“Ah man, hugging you will ruin my reputation.” He said though I heard the amusement behind it.
“Shut up, it will make it better.” I laughed and pulled away.
“Probably, anyway lets go h—” he started but got cut off by my phone ringing.
“Sorry.” I mumbled and fished it out of my purse.
“Hello.” I answered.
“Lilith its mom, you need to get home right now.” She shouted down the phone.
“What? Mom are you ok?” I asked.
“No, you need to get her as quickly as you can.” She said franticly.
“Mom I don't understand—” I was cut off by a gruff voice and then the phone went dead.
“What the hell?” i tried ringing mom back but the phone line was cut off.
“What’s wrong?” Seth asked.
Hell I was scared Mom didn't know any men or women, she sounded so scared.
“We have to get home right now Mom’s in trouble.” I said and jumped in the car.
I started the car as Seth jumped in.
I saw Zach and his gang walk out of the doors, I shook my head and floored it out of the school gates with everyone staring after me.
We made it home within five minutes, I was lucky a police man didn't pull me over for speeding.
We ran inside and it looked as if there had been a fight... or a struggle.
I swallowed, I don't know if there were other people in here.
“Seth, go get help.” I handed him my keys and shoved him out of the door.
“No I'm not leaving you.”
“I'm not giving you a choice.” I glared at him. “Go now, before you waste anymore time.”
He nodded and ran to my car, I breathed out and edged more into the house.
They wasn’t any sounds only my erratic breathing and the crunch of the broken glass under my feet.
I looked into the living room—nothing.
I looked in the kitchen—nothing.
I made my way upstairs, mine and Seth’s bedrooms were clear.
I took a deep breath and looked into my Moms room.
At my first glance I didn't see anything until the guy lunged at me.
I screamed as we fell to the floor.
“Get off—” I didn't manage to finish as he give a swift punch to my face.
I cried out.
I punched his chest numerous times but he didn't move.
“What did you do with my Mom?” I screamed.
He grabbed my face roughly and smirked.
“We took her.” His gruff voice echoed.
“What do you mean.”
“It means, we took her.” God I hated his man.
I clenched my fist and punched him right in the nose.
He yelled out and I took the opportunity push him off me.
I rushed to my feet and ran down the stairs, I heard him ran after me but I just ran faster.
I made it out the front door but stopped dead in my tracks and felt my eyes burn.
“D-dad?”
