After the dinner, the Fae king found himself wandering alone on the garden grounds on a moonless night. Wherever he stepped or touched, the plants seemed to come alive.

"You really have that green thumb, huh?" Earth heard the voice from behind him. He didn't need to turn to know who is speaking.

"It's not right to sneak up on someone, your highness." Earth said as he continued to explore the garden.

"I was wondering if you are betrothed?" Ben inquired.

Earth smiled, this is going to be fun, he thought. "I don't think it's any of your business." Earth stopped in front of a large tree in the middle of the garden.

"I want to make it my business." Ben said as he grabbed Earth's hand.

Earth turned and stared at the hand on his. "Let go."

"You seemed to like it the last time." Ben teased the fae king.

"Let go." Earth said, it was a warning. There was a change in the atmosphere. The leaves of the plants seem to be sharper, the skin of the fae king seemed to be colder under Ben's touch.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to intrude on your personal space." Ben apologized. "I just want to know if I have to steal you away from someone." Ben started to lightly thumb Earth's hand

"You are about to get married, prince of the Magis. You do not want to betray the pact."

"Maybe, for you, I will." Ben then proceeded to kiss his hand.

The seriousness in Ben's tone shook Earth's core. "You would?" He stared at Ben searching for an answer, all he saw a seriousness, an unbendable will. "Leave my presence and never speak to me again." he released himself from Ben's grip.

Earth walked a few meters away, Ben started to ask him "You do understand the requirements of the pact, right? It does not require me to be with the fae's chosen."

"Are you speaking about a loophole?" he looked over his shoulder.

"I'm speaking about a chance for us to explore what we feel. Do not lie, I know you feel the attraction between us."

'You idiot, of course, there is an attraction. I am your intended. Don't humans know things as basic as this?' Earth thought to himself. "You think highly of yourself, prince."

Out of the blue, Earth was grabbed by the waist and was locked in an embrace. "Didn't I tell you to let go?" Earth reiterated and tried to free himself out of Ben's arms.

"What if I don't want to?" flecks of lightning was coming out of Ben's eyes. "What if I don't plan to?"

"Then you are a fool, Benjorn Koramsson, High Prince of the Magis." Earth closed their distance and locked his lips with Ben.

It was addicting. Earth was using all his willpower to make sure he doesn't cross the line but the urge to place his hand inside Ben's trousers is starting to become overwhelming. Earth had to let go of the kiss.

"I thought you don't feel the attraction?"

"You are a fool." Earth placed distance between them 'You want to be with me but you don't want to honor the pact?' he thought to himself.

Earth gave Ben one last smile then disappeared in a swirl of white lights.
