2. Knock Knock

After having put some things in place, the young couple had opened up their air mattress in the living room and fallen asleep on it, holding each other in their sleep. The night was quiet and the air was still.

Y/N woke up from her sleep. She had always been a light sleeper. Even snuggled under the tangle of Jungkook's limbs, wrapped around her like an octopus tentacles, she would always wake up for the smallest sounds and the slightest disturbances. And just like always, now was no exception.

She closed her eyes and concentrated on her hearing. Taking silent breaths in and out, she tuned out Jungkook's slight snores from next to her. A slight shiver went up her spine. She heard rustling, like footsteps dragging something along. She stiffened. She sensed something in the corner, but her usual courage failed her when the footsteps suddenly stopped right near where the main door was.

She opened her eyes slowly and stared at the darkness around her. And a flash of moment caught her eye. Maybe it was the moonlight from outside playing pranks on her eyes, but she could have swore the shadow in the corner by the door had moved fluidly.

Her heart clenched in unnatural fear and she buried her face into Jungkook's arms. Her hair tickled Jungkook's nose and he stirred in sleep. He cracked open one eye upon feeling her trembling form in his arms.

"Baby?" he croaked out, pushing her hair aside "What's wrong?"

Y/N couldn't answer. She only dwelled deeper into the expanse of his wide, warm chest. "Y/N" he called out stronger. Her behaviour was worrying him out. He was about to push her face to look at it when he paused with his hand halfway to her face, at the same time that Y/N stiffened. A sound. A rustle. A small giggle.

And then a knock.
