3. Uninvited

Jungkook stood up and walked to the door. His bare back gleamed in the moonlight. He reached for the long heavy umbrella Y/N had bought along to their first date. He gripped it tightly as he made to the door. 

The couple paused trying to hear something from the other side of the door. Y/N stood slightly behind Jungkook, holding an unplugged lamp in her arms. As she turned her head away from the door, to listen better, she saw the shadow by the corner of the wall move. She sucked in her breath silently. 

She made to reach out to Jungkook, who was standing stiffly with his ear pressed against the door when suddenly the unmistakable sound of keys jiggling was heard from the other end. Y/N whipped her head in fright, her wide eyes making contact with Jungkook's own wide eyes. Their friends had warned them from buying an apartment in this area. It was shady and under the control of the underworld mafia but the rate was too good to pass off and the opportunity to be free and in love was tantalising. And now, it seemed they were about to pay the price for such a hasty decision. 

Jungkook stood in front with Y/N right behind him, both of them raised their make shift weapons high in the air waiting for the uninvited intruder. Just as the lock clicked open from the outside and the door knob turned, Y/N felt a warm breath saturate her heavy hair strands from behind. She turned ice cold as she spun around to face her back. 

She screamed just as the door opened. A terrified high pitch scream echoed back from the door. A thump, a groan and suddenly it was a squabble of bodies. Y/N's scream had scared them all and it was chaos as they all tripped and fell over each other. There was a lot of scuffling and crawling around in the darkness. Y/N had lost her grip on the lamp when she was dragged down in the scuffle. She had her hands over her head now, crouching low below someone's warm and big body. She was confused, scared and hoped that it was Jungkook above her and not the intruders. 

The light suddenly flashed on and the mass of bodies on the floor paused struggling. 

"HYUNG?" Jungkook's voice came from beside her. 

Y/N pushed the heavy body off her when she realised it wasn't Jungkook. She sat up to see such an atrocious sight that she couldn't help but burst out laughing. 

Hoseok and Taehyung were both huddled together, gripping each other with their eyes wide in fright and confusion. Jungkook was a tangled mess between them, his feet stuck between their faces. And the person Y/N had unceremoniously dumped off her had been Jin. 

"And here I thought I was the clumsy one." came a patronising voice from near the light switch beside the wall. They all turned around to see Namjoon grinning at them. Jungkook began to whine in annoyance, his cute, childish side that comes out only when in the presence of his hyungs. Jin got up and pulled Y/N with him. 

"I am so sorry Y/N. I wanted to come tomorrow morning but Tae and Hobi wanted to surprise you or more like scare you." Jin apologised, his round eyes sincere. 

She chuckled as she watched Jungkook struggled to free himself from under Tae and Hobi's massive body hug. They squished his cheeks and cooed at him while Namjoon just stood by the now closed door, watching them with a fond smile. The umbrella and the lamp stayed forgotten on the floor in this mess. 

"It's okay. I am just glad it's you guys." Y/N replied to Jin. 

"Of course it's us. Who else could it be?" Jin laughed, messing her hair on her head. 

"I... " her eyes travelled to the corner of the room again, now flooded with light. "No one." she replied. 

It was no one, she decided. It had to be no one.
